Sweet ROI is not a pipe dream

I just learned that an Aussie WC’er on another forum just obtained a 2195% ROI on his recent window cleaning flier campaign!

Two thousand one hundred and ninety-five percent return on investment.

In this challenging global economic climate.

Do you live in Australia? No. Does that mean that you can’t achieve similar results?

Also…no.

The moral of the story: Stop worrying and start marketing. I think that should be the buzzline for all of us in 2009.

Of course, make sure you’re using the right marketing tools, too.

If you could generate 2200% ROI, how hard would you look for the next $500 to pour into it?

No better investment than fliers.

Would love to know the details (numbers) on that campaign.

Really good job on the video, Kevin. I understand my competition already grabbed Toronto, though…

Thx John!

Sorry

I just read his comments again, and it was a very small test, only, since he wasn’t sure if the flier design was worth rolling out big-time, since it was a little bit complicated and all.

40 fliers in total.

He affixed a dollar-coin to each one of the fliers, and they were unusually sized, I can tell you that much.

The rest is top secret.

I think this could work very well using something far cheaper…

foreign currency (coins or paper). This stuff is just for getting attention, not to give them money.

I have heard of this working very well with direct mail (letters). Some currency is so cheap it is literally pennies each.

There are places online to order bags of this stuff but I am too lazy to search for it right now

His ROI might have been great, but nothing amazing. If i print out 40 fliers and get 1 job I could conceivably get 3000% ROI quite easily (more if it is a big job). The cost for the ad is nothing or near nothing which makes the “investment” negligible.

Now if you start talking about he converted 5 of those 40 into customers, that is an achievement.

Yeah, that’s an interesting spin. I have never thought of affixing foreign currency, for sure. Cool idea, Paul. That could be really interesting to experiment with.

I believe he got 3 jobs from the 40. He said his response rate was 7.55%, which works out to 3, from the 40…

And since he affixed a dollar coin, I guess with a 2195% ROI, he must have snagged around $880 in work from those 3 jobs.

Not bad for 40 fliers.

It’s true what you say, if you spend $10 on 150 fliers, and get one $300 job, you now have a 3000% ROI. I think what impressed me more was the larger investment up front that payed off a little better.

If he got that kind of response that is good
