Yeah, $340 for an hour of work.
Crazy, huh? My dad consistently brings in $2500-3000 PROFIT from changing out an old AC unit for a new one. That’s a job that takes 3-4 hours.

Yeah, it definitely has helped me in terms of the self-limiting beliefs. My brother works for me, and when we are at home and talk about our customers, dad thinks we are small potatoes. Haha. I’ve learned a lot from him though. And he has 30 years of HVAC experience, so he has been doing it for longer than I’ve been alive.
That’s what I meant.
If I had it to do over again, I would have gone to BOCES for HVAC, like my 32 year old nephew who has grown his own HVAC business to a stupid amount of money in the past 5 years. Too bad I like WC so much; no shame in working for family.

Currently, I have one builder for whom I do CCU. We have had discussions on the types of windows he has installed and the varying amounts of silicone that I’m going to encounter. Because of these understandings and because he knows what I’m going to charge for different window types/sizes, he includes it in the price of a given floor model before he ever digs. he started doing so after I explained to him that he already does this with the other trades and therefore the cost of cleaning the windows shouldn’t be coming out of what he will make at closing.
