Tool Belt

Hey guys,

I’ve read the other threads regarding belts, but thought it might be beneficial to have some actual numbers. Sorry if this irritates anyone.

What I’d really like to know is how many actually utilize the dedicated towel holder on the nylon/leather belts - do you think they are essential? I have a hard time chucking my scrim into my ergotec pouch cause I want it to hang out so it dries but I always end up losing or dropping the thing. I basically narrowed it down to these few results Nylon (with plastic clip), Leather and Padded.

This is what I have and it’s hopeless. Again, sorry if this is just going to be a repeat of previous threads, didn’t intend for it to be that way, just want to get some numbers to guide me

I have a three-loop nylon belt. I use an Unger ErgoTec Pouch. The pouch covers the third loop in back; I use the other two loops on my left side for my Triumph scraper and 6" detailing squeegee (right-side is my BOAB.)

My belt does not have loops. Only one of my employees has a belt with a loop, and he puts a small squeegee in it.

I prefer the cheap, plastic clip, nylon belts. Even though the clips break or jam sometimes, they are cheap enough to replace.

Maybe it was just me, but the leather belts weren’t comfortable. The leather was stiff and dug into my waist when bending over. Maybe if the leather was broken in it would be OK. Also a friend of mine who used to work for me swears his back would always hurt when wearing the leather belt.

I also didn’t like the padded belts. Although they were the most comfortable, I found them to be too bulky and my waist line sweated more.

3" leather belt works great. No more of them cheap clips breaking!:mad:I just use a hammer loop and it seem’s to work great.

Similar to what I’m looking at doing Larry. Is your scrim in the pouch? Cause if I try to hang it there so it can dry it always falls out. I’d probably chuck the scraper in the pouch and use one of the loops for the scrim. Cheers for that

Thanks for the heads up Seth. I’ll probably go and grab a nylon one too.

Looks like alot of people use the hammer loop, I’ll have to consider that too

Tucked-in behind the pouch/belt hanging over the pouch, tucked-in the belt between the BOAB and pouch, or over the shoulder (like Mister Squeegee!)

I haven’t had the drying issue, yet. I only have two to date.

Protrudes too far for me.

I recently started using a clip on my belt to hold my scrim. I kept having it drop off my shoulder when I was finishing out a low window or door. Sorry to break our rhythm Larry.

It always falls off my shoulder too, that’s why I’m looking at these other belts hehe. Your belt is full on Tony, you must never have to go back to your truck!

Only when I’m done my friend!

Go back to the truck? What do you mean? Tony’s truck is attached to his belt too! It’s between the screen brush and the extension pole.

I use a 2’’ steel ring and a carabiner to hold my towels. The carabiner is attached to the belt, and the steel ring is on the carabiner. You pull the towel halfway thru the ring and it doesn’t go anywhere. It’s easy to use, has a low profile, helps the towel dry, and keeps your shoulder dry. I’ll try to post a picture tomorrow.

i use a woven leather belt , this has a womans chrome and red plastic bracelet on the left side through which i pull my scrim cloth . on the front is my triumph scraper and on the right side my pulex boab.

I bought a padded belt at Lowes. It has a real belt buckle that doesn’t release accidently when I bend over. Great buckle, nice pouches and no loop for my scrim. Wait a minute, no loop for my scrim that’s a problem. I cut a piece off my old belt, burnt the ends with a match so they wouldn’t fray and sowed it onto my new belt. It is the exact perfect size for my scrim. I used a sowing ale I picked up at EMS, a backpacking store.

I voted leather but does chastity count? :stuck_out_tongue:

My current belt is a nylon shoulder strap that I took off a Samsonite bag.:o It has 2 metal clips to join in the front. I use a hammer holder for my detailing squeegee and any big towels like the scrim. The rest of the belt set up consists of a BOAB, a triumph scraper/holster, an Unger bottle holder and cheap spray bottle. Smaller towels go in my front pockets. Sometimes I’ll stick a fresh towel flopped over the back of my belt, out of the way until I need it.

+1

Cheap nylon belt for me. I also use a hammer holder and wrap the metal with friction tape to keep the towel from sliding out as easy.

A couple months ago i got a cheap large caribiner with a pad on one side. I think it was for whaping a power cord or ?? I found it on the action alie in the hardware store. So far so good.!! U want to let your scrim flop to dry it self !! My belt is a work in progress as they say !! Any thing to save a trip !! Stan, pro window kleeing and proud s**** user !!

we use the 3 star super duper holster belt with the tubex holster… we use the metal loops on the super duper holster for our rags and small squeegee, and the pouch for my wet rag… i very rarely drop a rag with our set up… although i always know where one of my guys is by following the trail of blue rags… i swear he leaves them all over the yard to find his way back to the truck
