Trimming rubber in your Ninja

One thing that I have noticed is that when you put a fresh piece of rubb into a Ninja channel there is plenty of overhang where the rubber is concerned. I’m already used to trimming my rubber to about 1/16" - 1/8th" max from the edge of the channel but with the Ninja it seems like I need to cut 1/4" off on each side. If I don’t I get the rubber riding up the edge and leave too much detailing on the sides. Other than that, I’m still liking the Ninja. just took the 36" out today for a test drive and have another huge job this Friday that I’ll be using the 36" almost entirely. should be interesting.

I’d be interested to hear other peoples opinions about the length of squeegee rubber compared to actual channel length when it comes to the Ninja. What is you trimming experience if any?

I trim it pretty much the same as my Slayer channels.

So what does that mean? You need to trim a lot, or a little? Seems like the Ninja channel lengths are pretty short.

Or do you buy long lengths and just cut down as needed?

Sorry Mark. I buy longer lengths and cut them down. I did notice that the piece of Unger rubber that came w/ the channel needed to be cut down at least a 1/4" for my comfort.

Okay, so I’m not crazy then. Yeah the channels seem to be a fair bit shorter than the rubber lengths. Strange…
