My van is now 3 years old, done limited mileage, i drive it like it’s my baby to reduce wear and tear and is always kept clean.
Repeat customers think i have a new van when i pull up - maybe they are just yanking my chain?
It pays to have a good reliable vehicle that is well kept, you need it to look good and to be reliable to stay in business.
I used to have signwriting but as i changed my business details it needed to come off - it’s blank now (meaning to get new signs) - no one has said a thing about it being blank and i’ve picked up more customers without signs (go figure!), so figure i might not bother now.
I had a PR guy helping me with some marketing and branding for a little while. I asked him the same question and he told me that consumers don’t really care all that much about how nice your vehicle is, as long as its not trashy like an eye soar or something. If it’s clean your good. I’ve used both older and nicer vehicles and I prefer using one that is not as nice but clean. I seem to get more work done when I don’t care what happens to my vehicle. I have nicer graphics on my truck now and it looks like a wrap, for about 1/3 of the cost. I got more calls when I had simple magnets signs where the background color matched the truck color I got more calls off the truck! Go figure.
SO for me experience has taught me the age of the vehicle does not matter as long as it is clean and running good, and with signage simple and clean gets the best response, and it doesn’t matter if its a wrap, graphics, or a magnet sign as long as its done right.
