Hey Wayne. For video to post on the internet you won’t need anything super great. In most cases you are going to have to compress the video size before you upload it, which is going to make you loose some of the quality of the video. I use the video setting on my digital still camera. Many of them come with a way to record video. I have another digital camera that only allows me to record 1 min videos at a time and it’s a pain. But the quality is not bad. If you don’t want to go that route and want something a little better. Any DV cam will do, you don’t need any fancy HD stuff. You can find DV cams pretty cheap these days. I do own a DV camera and that is a sony.
If you do a search on youtube for njwindoww you will see my 3 videos I have posted. The commercial was made with my sony dv cam. The other two were made with my standard digital still camera movie setting.
Hey Wayne Ive been thinking about doing the same thing lately but Im such a cheapo. I couldnt drop the cash. Looking forward to seeing some of your videos!
Like Juggernaut mentioned, check any digital point and shoot cameras that you may have. I wanted a decent camera to keep in my back pocket while doing working to take pictures for website and things so I bought just a cheap digital camera that had been returned at a store, it’s a panasonic lumix 5 megapixel, I believe it was around $80. It does pretty decent video too, even 16:9.
