Volunteer work

Has anyone ever volunteered window cleaning for any organization. The reason I ask is that I live near (10 mi. away) a very large wildlife conservation center and while we were there with the kids this past weekend I thought about offering to clean the windows in the gift shop in exchange for some signage recognizing it. What do you think, has anyone tried this, if so how has it worked for you? This place gets alot of traffic in the summer time. Let me know. Thanks!

Gr,
You bet. As a matter of fact, I am currently involved with childrens hospital auction that will be going on this week. Its a formal dinner that attracts who’s who in my area. Doctors, big name business owners. A few thousand attend it usually. It is a good way to show our support for the community and it helps kids which is awesome. We also do a few certificates for the optimist in our area (tee off for youth golf outting).

From what I have been told, donations are down across the board with the economy. I think that it makes my company look even stronger and better in this economy by participating.

Ive donated window cleaning gift certificates to local school auctions, as part of a “home” gift basket. Anything to get your name heard locally.

I clean the windows at my church when it is slow during the winter. I really don’t do it to drum up business, however a few house jobs materialized from people who’ve heard about it. I just do it because I want to be able to tell God something good I did during my life when the time comes!

If God knows all, why would you have to remind him/her/it of this?

why do you care??? why are you always starting crap LAtzzzzz Goooooooooo

I don’t, Doug.

whatever you say LARRY

goodnight

How many Miller Lites tonight, Doug?

Larry,
How can you tell that someones been drinking by their post? Are you the internet police:confused:

Steve: Doug has mentioned his drinking vast quantities of that adult beverage in the past here.

PS: MYOB

I was just curious Larry. Having your post picked apart isnt much fun from my own personal experience. No hard feelings with the MYOB you wrote. Its all good.

Just when i was excited to be back on the boards again… Hey Doug, instead of having another beer you should just smoke another joint and work on post number 3200 while thinking “how can i pick apart another post”

Nice to see everyone acting like adults-Any way back to my original question…Thanks for all of the non childish responses

Glad to see you on here big B.

maybe i should drink a 12 pack while i am stuck in my wheelchair…

What happened Doug? Skiing accident?

close Tony,

Dirt bike accident,

Getting back to your question, i think that volunteer work is great. Ive done it to help the senior citizens in the city i live in. Cleaning their windows for free on occasion. Even if if doesnt get you any referral work it just makes you feel good inside.

As far as the childish responses go…sometimes its necessary with some people, stick around a little longer and you will soon figure out who we are dealing with.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that Doug! Get well soon.

this thread sure went off on a wild tangent:)
