Wagtail "Do they really help to lessen the pain of window cleaning?"

Now, wagtail has been my main squeegee of choice, resi and commercial with no noticeable in my wrists.
I don’t know what happened but for some reason I cant fan with my Ettores anymore. I went through a zero degree phase then finally gave up on everything and went solely to wagtail. I need to buy a 14in but still debating on the whirlwind or the original, like my 12 & 18". I find myself being able to control the squeegee from many angle, not having to use a ladder, squat or bend down on my knew as much. My pole work with the wagtail has much improved too. The only thing I would change in the the way the rubber is held. Some sort of clip would be a better way imo

Hey Jet, thats weird, I had the same problem. Was using my wagtails for a while and found that it was difficult fanning with a normal squeegee!! For some reason this bothered me so I went back to using my older squeegees. The way the rubber is held (by a screw) on the slimline version is a milion times better than the original. You can have the slimline with the old style washer pad rather than the whirlwind, which is stiffer. I found the whirlwind not so easy to use, though the washer pad did hold more water.
Either way, I did not find the wagtail any easier with aches and pains…

I Too have noticed that if you use the wagtail for a long period of time, going back to a regular squeegee seems weird. it’s all muscle memory. Eventually you get it back. The best thing to do for both technique improvement and avoiding muscle strain is to vary your tools and techniques. I know it’s hard once you get into using the wagtail, it really is an amazing tool once you discover all it’s different applications. I’m using it more without the scrubber pad attached. I just find a regular strip washer to be better in most situations.

I think it is quicker to squeegee without the waher pad as well…very, very lightweight.
