Wanting to buy a pressure washer first time

Well said Jerry love the new machine. Very good piece of equipment! I appreciate the good service I have received with everything I have purchased from you. AR pump very good!

Thanks for the advice guys. Sorry i havent been on in awhile.

So did you end up making a purchase?

To get a machine that will put out 3500 psi at 5.5 gpm you will want to find something with a 13 hp or larger engine. If you cannot afford this type of machine then you will want to shop for gpm more than psi. If you are going to do just your own home then a smaller machine will work but if you plan on getting paid for your pressure washing services then your customers are expecting that you have something more than a home owner type of machine.

I just noticed you replied. Ya I did. I bought a used one off Craigslist for $300. It works great. 3700 psi and 4 gpm

Anyone know about the Vortexx equipment?
Vortexx Pressure Washers

I never heard of them before they started running ads on Facebook.

Old thread. Get over it.

Anybody use a Vortexx? I’m looking at the 4gpm belt drive unit.

JK…not familiar with vortexes, but any machine with a good engine that you can pick up cheap would make a nice platform to put a Udor pump on, in my opinion. I put a 5.5 gear driven pump on mine and I absolutely love it!

I have a vortexx 4gpm and it’s a beautiful machine. Get the gear drive, not the belt drive. It’s a little lighter so if your tough you can lift it in and out of a truck or van by yourself. I highly recommend these machines.

Thanks, Caleb. They are beautiful eh? Well designed little machines.

The only reason I lean towards the best driven is because they last longer. Is it worth it though? I’m a wfp operator so pwing will be on the side.

the reason people say belt drive machines last longer is because the belt/pulley system reduces the engine rpm down from 2600+ to 1400 or so, which is all the pump needs to operate. so lower rpms on the pump means less wear and tear on the moving parts, which leads to longer life. a gear drive machine does the exact same thing, it just uses a small gear box to do the rpm reduction instead of belts and pulleys. you are thinking of a direct drive, where the pump runs directly off the motor shaft with no rpm reduction at all.

and yeah, i would go ahead and buy a gear drive.

Very cool. Thanks a lot. I think I just read your review on their main site. You’re a great salesman…I’m scheduled to meet with their local rep next month.
