Wash it pro TDS increase

My RO waste is like 1300

What is your TDS out of the tap?

But his had pure water going through it. He was doing a di rinse.

400-900

TDS has now increased to 008 since my last post. I’m still awaiting the arrival of my spare DI filter that was supposed to come with the unit. Ordered some Purelite also. I’ll keep my eye on things over the next few weeks and monitor the increase. This all seems rather premature!

Keep us informed, William … you are in a high TDS area. Remember, the result you want is spot-free, not a particular TDS reading. Also … you should test your RO Only water and check if it is spot-free. This will save the resin. If you follow the advice, you will not use as much resin in this next period. We remain alert to attend to your situation.

Thanks Perry! I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to mechanical devices. The slightest variation irks me. Of course that’s my problem and not yours. I appreciate that you invest yourself personally with your customers.

I experienced a taste of that last week when we lost a screw from the Reach it Pro. All I had to do was open that box of spares you sent with the pole and voila, there was a little bag with some spare hardware in it.

RO only is reading 022 TDS so that is fine. DI only is now reading 280 TDS so it looks like the resin is definitely shot. RO/DI is steady at 011 TDS. Incoming source water is 500 TDS.

I just took delivery of some Purolite resin and proceeded to change it out but can’t get the DI canister loose. I actually broke the filter wrench trying to free it so now I’m sitting with a shot DI filter and no way to open it. Can the day get any worse?!:frowning:

Any hardware store can sell you a new filter wrench, while there, grab a 3’ piece of 2.5" PVC and use that as leverage to break it loose. These, like most every other housing will get tight under pressure. A little leverage will go a long way and it will open right up.

Did that and $20 lighter the reinforced strap on the heavy duty wrench I just bought from Autozone stretched and broke. I had a piece of 3" steel piping laying around which I used for leverage. This thing is moving for nothing!

No way… what if you use one of these

OEM 25076 Small Swivel Oil Filter Wrench - Amazon.com

Is it still under pressure? If so, relieving the pressure will help.

looked at those. Too small in circumference. I already have a large wrench for my Ford power-stroke oil filters and that’s too small to even go around the narrowest part of my DI filter housing. This thing is as tight as a Scotsmans wallet

Ok I got it. Man that thing was tight!. Changed out the resin. The old resin was jet black with very little good (brown) stuff in it, I take it that black resin is spent resin? My TDS is reading 0 on RO/DI. I I also did an RO flush with pure water from my truck mounted storage tank. After almost an hour I got it down to 18. I’m a happy camper once more

no somethings messed up with your DI is what it sounds like… I know hardwater plays havoc on these systems, when I was doing research for my system the guys from dultmeier told me it is advisable to soften the water before putting it through your system… I don’t have this issue as I live in an area where my tap is 120 tds coming out of the wall…

but I would reckon based on what your saying that something is shot, and it sounds like your DI…

if you have 500 coming in and 23 coming out of your RO than that thing is working hard…

No it more likely carbon dust.
