Water fed pole + Storefront Glass = YUCK

wfp… pffffft…
Just bid a 5 story yesterday and the property manager demanded no wfp. My response “those things are for awnings”. Hmmmm. I’m noticing more property managers demanding no wfp. I’m old school and loving it. Have had wfp for 15 years. Collects dust for the most part.

I tried this on a ‘Forever 21’ It was actually quicker to squeegee than wfp. The amount of time setting up and breaking down the wfp system was a significant factor. The only time I will wfp is on the high level glass which is a bi annual cleaning

That makes sense now!

Because you dont know how to use it properly and your equipment is as old as the dinosaurs.

I have a friend that had the same attitude but one I showed him the mistakes that he was making he’s 100% WFP.

You probably have a tucker pole with a soap canister and a worn out DI tank. That’s model T Ford stuff there.

Hey Pags, that storefront glass may be hydrophobic for a reason. It may have anti-graffiti film on the outside. I see more film applied usually to new strip or outlet malls. You have to be careful and think 2wice when whipping out a Triumph or Steel Wool on outside glass.

Lmao really. Poking at me? WFP are for those “building maintenance” company’s that are just that. Do not really know the ins and outs of window cleaning nor paid their dues. That are in fact not a “journeyman” window cleaner. (Sorry about using that word as I’m a firm believer in the fact that the union served is purpose when needed but now is the time to let it go). If have been doing this for 30 years now and can say I have just about done everything and am a qualified “journeyman” not a self proclaimed whatever that is a glorified route worker.

It’s funny how some people think that just because they have been doing this for many years they consider themselves better or more knowledgeable than others (journeyman). Maybe some of them are and maybe you are, but this forum is an exchange of ideas and ways to help everyone become better at cleaning windows. Some guys who have done this for so many years are stubborn to change. WFP is obviously not just for “building maintenance” companies. It’s a viable tool for some situations and not effective in others.

Ah Phil you are so right . A very good friend if mine the one that got me into window cleaning has been cleaning windows since the 80s. Has a very successful business an never used wfp once I bought one an realized how great they are I practically had to beg him to buy one . He wouldnt listen to ,or believe me . He said to me at one point wfp are for guys that don’t know how to use ladders . I was like dude I have one an you know I know how to use ladders . Long story short he finally caved in , an now he can’t stop using it an so happy with his investment . I’m still waiting for my steak dinner . He wouldn’t listen to me about who to buy it from , but at least he has the benefit of this great piece of equitment

Yep agree got alot of storefronts
And dont do any wfp
Also think aboit long run
Storefronts are for your future workers
And the amount storefronts pay it dosent justify all the costs of buying all thay pure equip for worker
Also your worker will rush and most probably not rinse well as opposed to the imidiate results of a squeegee
