"Waterfed Police"

Who would someone report an illegal use of the word “Waterfed” to? I am deeply concerned that one of my employees just today referred to one of our tools as a ******** pole. I will also be keeping tabs on these forums and reporting all infringements to the proper authorities.

what??? i do not understand?

Im lost as well.

I get it, Curt.

hahaha… funny!
should I email my suspicions to "[email protected]?

???huh?

Not only should you do that, but if you notice that the person uses that word without reverence in their voice you should get all upset at the lack of respect and tell them that if they don’t clan up their act Chris Wallace will submit them into some sort of respect-inducing choke hold.

If you’re still lost- click here

There are still people on this earth that will try to earn the respect and prestige they believe they deserve by bullying tactics and litigation.

I nearly fell out of my seat laughing, Curt! Funny stuff buddy!

Better be careful, Obama finds out your talking about him this way, you could be in real trouble.

What is the process that *** has to go through for this? They need to allow for public comment, don’t they? How does that happen?

 • Sorry. Inadvertantly used the name…

hahahahahhaaa

Classic.

Have you ever noticed that those who are extra wordy to prove their case or cause seem to feel the most guilt or question about what they’re doing?
Just my take, anyway (and I am pretty old!)

I’m not sure if Chris thought this was a private thread, because his response ended up in my email inbox. For the sake of keeping the conversation moving, I have pasted his response below:

"If a new competitor named their window cleaning company: 5 Star Window Cleaning, how would you feel about it? A slightly different name but close enough to create confusion in the marketplace.

That is how we feel about our site waterfed.com compared to waterfed.ca which states affiliation with Reach Higher Ground.

Trademark for the word waterfed (one word) is to protect our retail site and the many thousands of dollars invested on Waterfed.com. Ask a copy right attorney instead of smoking whatever our competition is rolling.

Thank you for your attention,

Chris Wallace – President

Yea Chris is on here every minute under fake names… You can tell him hes welcome to come on and post or himself.

LOL! Such a hypocrite.

Everybody go check out TuckerSystem.com – see where it takes you. Then exit out and come buy all your equipment at WCR!

How’s that any different then what he’s trying to prevent somebody from doing?

Well, it wouldn’t.

First off, it would be illegal to name their DBA or LLC in my state anything that could be mistaken because I am legally registered with the state of AZ, and have claim on the legal name.

Could someone in another state? Yeah. But they wouldn’t get the URL because I have bought it, and the variations that I felt were appropriate.

Can I buy every URL and every suffix (.edu, .ca, .biz, etc.)? I guess if I were really afraid that the pie was just too scarce. But I don’t believe that. So I didn’t. It’s my job to get as many qualified customers as possible to the proper URL.

Does Kleenex get mad if I call another brand of tissues “Kleenex”? How about if I call a generic pair of jeans “Levi’s”? They might, but it doesn’t matter. I’ll still call them that…

The funniest part of all is that you trying to trademark, copyright, or patent the word waterfed is like some retailer trying to do the same with the word “tissue” or “jeans” from the above example. The generic general sweeping term is somehow entitled to you. Why?

It almost seems as if you are trying to lay claim on the word “waterfed” because you bought a URL. That is not reasonable in my mind at all.

I thought about that for a while, and I think that you may want to pay your copyright attorney after he has settled this matter, and if you do somehow get the word as your very own word… I think you may want to stay out of court protecting it because any judge would marvel that someone was able to copyright such a general term, and quite possibly laugh you out of the courtroom.

Also, I don’t (and never will) smoke. If that was an invitation to come over to your “camp” and try your stuff, I just thought I’d let you know.

The company in question is Waterfed Canada. It is a company that specialises in selling waterfed equipment to window cleaners in Canada exclusively. Waterfed.ca sort of says it all. It has no connection to waterfed.com as far as I am aware. Never has. If Chris wanted to serve the Canadian market, he should have bought the .ca extension. I just checked - I could buy ***windowcleaningsupply.ca if I wanted it. But I won’t.

Let’s take this another step further. Even if by some miracle he was able to get the name it does him no good. Why? Waterfed.ca is in Canada! They are not bound by American law! So that argument just doesn’t hold water. It begs the question - what’s really behind this move?
I also find it offensive that this guy is constantly deriding people who question him, his company, or his actions. The name calling is absolutely ridiculous behavior for a supplier.
