WFP Clean outsides 1st or last?

My wife mentioned to me that someone at the seminar stated they use a WFP 1st on the job. Meaning they start cleaning the outside first, then move inside. I don’t work that way. I clean outside last. I’m starting to think going outside 1st, only on a WFP job though. Wondering how to most start out the job?

I own a WFP but to be honest don’t use it as much as I should, but I always do outside first, even when using only squeegee, since the outside is where they’re really dirty, so I don’t have to do the inside, then the outside and see that I have spot/smudges inside.
Hope it makes sense.

We do a lot of wfp work and we typically start outside first (unless the homeowner needs/wants us to do interior work first). One guy goes inside to remove screens (if they are on the exterior) and the other connects the water and pulls hose. I like doing it this way because then you can see how it’s drying and mentally note any windows that need a touch up (some take a while to dry and one would have to wait around to make sure they rinsed alright if the interior was done first … that’s time I don’t want to spend when I can be on my way to another job). I know there are plenty of guys who do it the other way around, I just like it this way.

I always do outsides first as well - both with a WFP or squeegee methods. My nose is to the glass a lot more often on the inside then on the outside, so I’m able to inspect my work better from inside. I can also make sure the water has dried properly and no runs from the top of the frame; this usually doesn’t happen, but when it does, I’m able to catch it.

I usually do the insides first because theres nothing worse than doing a high window out first, then doing the inside just to find there are marks on the out and hauling tthe ladder around again.

So if there are marks after doing the outsides last you leave them? Why would doing the outsides last make a difference as to whether or not there are marks?

Always outs first here.

Outs first for me!

Outs first for me as well. When doing the insides I keep a close eye on any drips or spots and where they are located on the window, sometimes even sketching it on a note pad. After that I just grab the Garelick Pole and the Fixiclamp for the touch up, no need to haul the ladder back. Then cruise back inside for the final walk through. Works great for me.

When I do the outsides last (nose to glass) I can make sure that all the marks are on the inside, if there is any.

Outs!

Got it. Well I changed up today and I will say much better. I was concerned with opening the lower sashes while the windows were still wet so I can clean the sills. But fixxed that issue by WFP’ing the outside first then spent some slow time to clean the screens while everything dried up. I like it this way much better. Easier to see if there are any mistakes. Well I guess it would not be the 1st time I was doing something ass backwards.
