Sorry to revive an old thread but how necessary is a flow controller for your pump if setting up a tank/pump system?

I know John Lee says it will prolong the life of the pump, but I’ve had my pump now for I think 4 years with no flow controller , an I’m going on year 5.
I just bought a new rig an the new rig has a flow controller . it’s not necessary , but I guess nice to have.

Got ya. What GPM are your pumps? And does feeding through the 3/16" ID WFP line hinder the pump at all/cause it to cycle?

I have this pump for my tank I have in my van

You’ll need to wire that to a a marine battery

I think you mean 5/16” hose. I don’t think so , I go from the pump. 5/8 Garden hose to the reel of 6MM hose then to the lead hose 5/16.
There is a pic up top of my set up !
