Tom - you can get a Hudson back pack for about $100, a 25ft Ettore hybrid Aquaclean pole (replaces the CL-X) is $458 and should do up to 3 story residential work or the 35ft pole is $599. You can get distilled water (steam distilled will work for wfp) at local grocery stores. The distilled is going to be expensive in the long run so you could get a half cubic ft DI tank from WCR and try your hand at harvesting rain water. There was a great article in the WCBO by John Lee on this. It will make you resin go quite a ways.
I use a backpack on every WFP job I do. I can do 10 second floor double hung windows with less than 4 gallons of water in under 30 minutes. Your savings in labor would more than make up for the cost of distilled water. I like a manual hand pump because I think I use less water. Maybe I’m mistaken.
I am interested in the backpacks as well. I just had a question about psi. Is there a recommended range in psi or what? What is the minimum psi?
Thanks!
could you describe you hand pump backpack?
cheers
The old ones were 40psi, I managed up to 60’ with those. The new ones I think are 60psi depending which brand. The old Omnipole 80 psi ones were great but single speed. The newest one I have, has a variable control speed dial.*
