I have overheard people on the phone quite frequently talking to their friends and I hear them say “the window washer is cleaning my windows” to the person on the other end of line. Lot of people use that term. In my opionion, I think that window cleaning sounds more professional. If you think about it, anyone is capable of “washing” a window. Not every one is capable of “cleaning” a window or getting it clean.
Heres a nice thing some of you may not know about. It’s called Google trends. It will show you the trends of searched keyword from either the world or your location. For things like window cleaning its hard to get it drilled down to the state level to see what counties search most for window cleaning. But at least you go to the state level. Seems Nev and CO are big on the window cleaning. ANd if you go world level you can guess who is #1. lol. THE UK lol.
When I was a kid the people who came to pick up our trash were called garbage men. Now we call them sanitation engineers, but they are still garbage men.
I’m a window washer, one of the best and proud of it.
Glass Maintenance Specialist has a nice ring to it, what do ya think?
I don’t care what you put on your business card, if you use Dawn … on second thought maybe I should keep my mouth shut. Don’t want to start a war between the professional window cleaners and the window washers. haha
PS
I add Dawn to my glass gleam 4 so I guess that makes me a professional window washer.
Hmmm, I was going to say maybe it was a regional dialect thing, but you’re “washing”, I’m “cleaners”, and we’re 20 exits up the Parkway from each other.
Maybe “cleaner” is a Benny thing lol. Let me pump my squeegee fist.
I read somewhere in a survey 68% of the people in the survey prefer to clean a toilet thatn their outside windows. So in response to your question I’d say none of the above. We are pain killers. We take away the pain of doing hard and sometimes dangerous task of cleaning windows. Like a doctor, we get paid to remove pain.
