That’s a very interesting strategy.
I would like to do that and I’ve thought about it; I’ve done similar things. I cleaned a few bus stops once. And oh yes, there are tons of empty buildings around here. But around here you would get border protection or homeland security on you if you did something like that. It’s true. You can’t even park in one place too long or do many of the things you take for granted when you’re in a free country.
But maybe I’ll try it. I’ll say “the guys at WCR told me to!”
go for it. i can see the headline in the Miami Chronicle " young man decides to clean up our city "
Trespassing is interesting?
Good point
Okay, obtain permission first.
I can’t believe I just spent 45 minutes reading every post in this thread, most of which are about some kid complaining about the city he lives in…you should either start a punk band or join a charity. By the way, do you think your customers enjoy seeing a logo that was ripped of a tv show or a video game that encourages violence and corruption in your fine city which you have some affair with?
Well, I’m sorry I wasted your time, and I would extend an invitation for any of you to expand your business here. Believe me there is a HUGE market gap, but even so I don’t find it likely I’ll be seeing any of you here.
Either way, people who quit cleaning their windows here when the economy got bad and who won’t start again until maybe 2012 are going to be in for a surprise when for “some reason” their windows come out not looking like they used to after “only” five years of neglect.
And wouldn’t you know it, this is exactly what is happening.
you guys are f’n awesome!!!
Nice Rap Mark, Very nice!
I’m sorry i missed this train-wreck of a thread when it was fresh, but I only started on WCR in mid to late June or perhaps early July, I can’t remember. Anyway, I find it hillarious that this Miami High Rise guy (I would assume his name is Daniel since that’s the e-mail address on his website) is complaining about not getting calls for work, when he obviously hasn’t been able to bid on his own, and really expects people to call him just because his site pops up on the first page of google for a short while. Dude, even if they click on your webpage it SCREAMS “I don’t know what I’m doing!!!”. The homepage has your amazing logo that says “Miami High Rise Window Cleaning”, but has NO pictures of a high rise building in sight. Just a bunch of blue sky and the roofline of a small house. I’m not hating on you because you’re 21. I started my window cleaning business out when I was 21. I certainly didn’t know it all, heck still don’t 9 years later, but maybe you should start reading up on how to market your business, put out a new thread like “How do I contact, bid, and land High Rise jobs?” and humbly let everybody on here who knows what they’re talking about teach you something? Just a thought. By the way, I don’t know jack about High Rise. I’m trying to get Mid-rise buildings with my WFP here in Tucson (small enough city) and I put in a bid on a 4 story and 6 story buildings side by side the other day. (I really wanted them too, would’ve made great photos for my website)
Between the two buildings there was 2356 windows. I was going to have a three man crew WFP them all, be done in 4-5 days. I bid $6,000 (even though I felt they were worth more). The building maintenance manager practically laughed- he’s getting them done right now… both buildings for $1,400. No Joke!
However, I did just do a two and a half story building (WFP) with only 438 windows and made $1300 (exterior only), done in 13 hours- 2 guys taking turns with one WFP. Next time, I’ll have two WFP’s and be done in probably 7-8 hours.
Lesson to learn here is High Rise Sucks if there’s Lowball competition. I am not talking about you Thad or any others who make a good wage doing High Rise. But I think I’ll be sticking to 5 or 6 stories and lower. Probably much lower.
Oh my GOSH. How did I miss this post at the time???
Mark Paolera, you are my hero.
This is fantastic. Fan. Tastic.
You have too much free time Michael…

I miss Miami High Rise. Maybe I’m a jerk for saying this, but that cat cracked me up.
We sure have some interesting people that come and go through here…
an 8 story building with 1000 windows should be at least 3000-4000 dollars if im doing my math right. at least and i don’t even hang. hope this is helpful but that is a lot of work
WWWWWOOOOOOWWWWWW!!! Lyrical Gangsta!
Woooooooow. That is the funniest response to a post. Ever.
Sounds really low to me. We paid 4,000 dollars for a 6 story building with glass all around. We have one lifter and the guy will only rappel themselves up and down. We offer a lucrative amount just to attract some cleaners than to pay a large amount of money to a cleaning agency which is not worth it.
I agree way too low
