Thad, the CL-X is a much better pole than the X-Tel. I have more control and the weight is so much better.
Tick tock
Don’t push me, son.
I have a 31’ X-Tel hybrid. It’s part carbon Fiber, part fiberglass (similar to the CLX, I imagine). Not even sure they’re available anymore?? I love it for the most part. It’s very durable, doesn’t seem too heavy for all day use, but fully extended it has just a tad too much flex for my liking. For a few windows, fully extended is OK, but if I were using for several hours fully extended I would definitely go full carbon fiber pole.
I also have a 21 or 24" X-Tel fiberglass pole. I can’t remember the actual length off hand. I dislike using it fully extended. It’s super flimsy even in the low 20’ range. We only use it for tall first story windows. I kind of regret buying it actually, because we usually end up using the 31’ most of the time anyway.
My favorite pole is my 12’ Ionics fiberglass pole. I love it! I think under 16-18’, a fiberglass pole is perfect.
Now knowing what I know now, I would suggest starting off with at least a hybrid pole, but highly suggest a full carbon fiber pole.
This is EXACTLY what I needed to know.
So would suggest the XTELs for lower work then? Like under 20 feet? I can buy several of these inexpensive poles for store fronts.
Yea, I used my 26 clx for the first time today fully extended and I couldn’t get any pressure on the brush. I think the windows still came out ok… I hope. I did have to redo a few because the top corners didn’t look great at all.
Under 20’ the Xtel fiberglass is a fine product. Especially if you don’t have to fully extend the pole.
Xtel is poo poo as far as I can tell from holding one, it is like a fiberglass Tucker and actually heavier. The CLX is a good bet for 356 dollars it is a no brainer,
No pressure huh?
Did you check to see what your pressure was at the hose bib or source? The inlet for your tanks? The outlet for the tanks? From your feed hose to the pole hose? Did you check for any kinks inside the pole? I have never had low pressure problems that was not due to low pressure from the source or a valve or kinked line somewhere.
You can get a pressure meter too so you will know.
Why are you making fun of Big Bertha bro? She ain’t poo poo. That big girl makes green backs foo.

If you’re low on cash and working under 20ft convert a window washing pole. It didn’t take me long to kick my 22ft extel pole to the curb in favor of my Unger window washers pole. It was stiffer and just as light. The extel had better clamps but that’s it. Over 20ft nothing beats a full carbon fiber pole. Personally I wouldn’t mess around with a hybrid because to much flex in a pole is an energy burner. You get no pressure when you try to scrub a filthy window. JMO
