Whats the difference between scrims?

just starting out on a window cleaning buisiness, and want to buy some new scrims off ebay,

whats the difference between grade A and grade B scrims?

I believe the grade B are a little thinner and not as durable. I got my scrim here - <img src=“Shopwindowcleaner.com scrim-2.jpg” alt=“” title=“” /> and have been very happy w/ them. Wash them several times before the first use to break them in.

You’ll be thrilled with the ones they sell here. I’m still using the first one I bought every day.

Grade A Scrim is heavier and last much longer. It usually comes pre washed but I always run them through the washer WITHOUT detergents then dry them on a light cycle. That gets rid of the initial “Cardboard” feel to the cloth. Thereafter you should only ever wash it in clear water by hand and wring it out tight. Then give it a good shake so that it snaps. This gets rid of more moisture. Its ready for use then.

Grade B scrim isn’t worth the money for window cleaning. Its usually full of lint and doesn’t stand up to the rigors of window cleaning. In the UK painters use them to strain paint
