Frankly I might take a gun and shoot myself if I had to wake up each day looking for work doing residential. No offense because I know some here make ok money doing it.
I think for a burger king that’s a bit low on pricing.
Our average for any fast food is higher.

I wouldn’t touch that for a penny less than $200. You have to figure, if its busy when you get there, you’ll be standing around waiting for people to get up half the time you’re there. If it takes you 2 hours with nobody in the restaurant, it will take you 3 with patrons in the way. 3x $70 (hourly avg) = $210.
I may be a bit spoiled with a measure of success in the residential market though. Borderline cocky. If someone begs me for a commercial / storefront bid I bid it at my normal pricing.
It looks like they want it done for $80.00. That’s less than $.60 per side. The other company isn’t able to do it at that price. I’d say $120.00 to $140.00.
Why would you have to “wake up each day looking for work”? I wake up each day and go to work or send someone to work. It’s just a matter of calling and scheduling.
The good part about these accounts Like BK they open early 6am
Even if it took you 2 hours which i doubt start on the outside at 5am and your ready to go with the inside before they open at 6am,
We do 30 carls junior out here i can get 6 of them done in 4 hours 5am -9am and thats with drive time ,
We service these accounts week grant it there no where as big as the one in the pics above.
I’m kind of like C Cartwright, pricing any comm work that comes my way close to my resi pricing. It didn’t start out that way, but as the residential clientele has built up enough to where I am busy everyday, it makes little sense to price lower just to get an account. I’ve discontinued service on a few, raised prices on a few others…but I don’t actively solicit any more commercial. I’m spoiled with a 9-3 work day…and when I have to work a Sunday…I really don’t like it…regardless of $.
We have a good amount of commercial jobs for pressure washing and window cleaning however residential is the bread and butter. My guys go get the job done and BAM we have a check also no red tape, we can sell more work to each customer with no board meetings etc
The only time I see 5am is if there’s traffic coming out of NYC on a Sunday morning lol… another thing I live about residential work
I seem to find that when resi gets busy (often), route work becomes a huge hassle. I totally agree with being spoiled, schedule wise, when doing resi only. Sundays just don’tt happen for me, Saturdays occasionally. 4-5 days a week at 7 hours a day is just finnne by me I don’t need more
My biggest concern would be the distance. I would read the manager as well as possible and buy myself 3 or 4 days before giving my bid. Then I’d market as much of the area as possible over the next couple days. Depending on how much I added would influence my price. I have a couple tricks I use to compete with the lower priced competition. What I mean by reading him is - if I can get an idea of what their budget for window cleaning is I would create a program to meet or beat it. If he’s paying $80 a week - AN EXAMPLE - I may approach him with a service plan that has less frequent cleanings and come in lower than the $320 he’s spending now. Assuring him his glass will be just as clean as if we were cleaning it on a weekly basis.
Each account is different. Another example if he calls me or is referred by one of my existing customers, I may push the more frequent cleanings at a higher price. It all depends on the read and the intel I gather after talking with him the first time.
. the great thing about such accounts is is that you can start at 6 in the morning .you would have to start early anyway it aint gonna work when people are in there sitting down all over the place eating there breaded beef
2 guys will be finished in around an hour or less ( just guessing ) …if the price is right is that not a good earner, but if the price is low then its just another energy sapping waste of time. depends on what you earn monthly.
I talked to a Burger King the other day when I was there for lunch, manager said the guy they use charges them 30.00 to do all those windows, and its the same lay out as in the pics
I’ve seen this over and over - There are several company’s in my area that have told me face to face they are fine making $30 and $40 an hour. I know of 3 off the top of my head. They have a lot of these bigger fast food accounts with multiple windows. It isn’t hard to figure out how they got them. For that price they can have em. There’s another guy - goes by the name of “Loyd” that works for half that (maybe less than half). It’s obviously cash payment everytime and the customer is aware his window cleaner isn’t licensed or insured. The last one I spoke too, joked about the guy needing fishing money.
I’m not real worried about it, I think they’re maxed out with crappy jobs (wouldn’t be hard to do). Over the last 5 years I haven’t heard of any of the 3 marketing for new accounts.
30.00 I thought was way too low,I’m not in it for bid wars,But i do have a couple bucket bobs over here, lol i hate them guys, lol but fish i have no problem with,he stays away from my clients I stay away from his
Not really, atleast not in my eyes. If you’re referring to my post “Which you quoted” a guy that charges $30 an hour and runs it thru legitimately after taxes he isn’t making much more than the guy at $15 cash. My whole point is - there are a lot of company’s out there charging this rediculous price. You asked what else there was to the story. I was just explaining the pricing I’ve ran across.
