My prognostications for the year…

Pittsburgh over Da Bears

Yankees / Phillies again, Yanks win! Off-season the Core 4 retire, we dump half the rest of the team, and start fresh. Will suck for 2 years, then the Evil Empire will return in 2014. Mets will actually start playing baseball again (I thought they became an NBA team or something, cuz they sure as h#ll haven’t been playing baseball)

Devils will be playing golf in March cuz Kovalchuk is nothing but a $100M virus and although Brodeur is the greatest goalie in history, he’s getting too old. We suck horribly this year. I haven’t even bothered going to a game this season for fear of slipping into depression lol

NBA - well I stopped caring once Kidd left the Nets and Jay Z decided to buy the team and move them to Brooklyn. Apparently the Knicks are on a roll this year. So, go Knicks!

Soccer - I know nothing about it, but I think its time to check out a Newark Red Bulls game at this funky looking new stadium they built in North Newark. Another true NJ team, I guess by default I’m a fan :slight_smile:

College Football - Rutgers makes yet ANOTHER triumphant return. Figures I lived in Rutgersville New Brunswick, NJ for 9 years and barely paid attention to the football team because they couldn’t finish a season with more than 2 wins. The moment I moved out in '05 they start playing Bowl games. This year is an exception. Update on Eric LaGrande… He can move his hands and arms. God Bless. He was the hometown hero from my high school.

Chris, I really think it’s could be any team winning the Super Bowl at this point.
I hope you’re wrong about the World Series. 2009 was horrible for me personally. The Phillies and Yankees are 29 and 30 on my favorites list. I was rooting for the Yankees to lose, not the Phillies to win.
As for the Mets in 2011, I think they’ll finish in 4th again unfortunately. Beltran may shine since he’s in the last year of his contract and will want to optimize his trade or renewal value. If Bay and Reyes can put some kind of continuity into their game, the team might hold their own overall. Quite a few new guys (Davis, Murphy, Evans) have promise but can’t are injury or slump prone. Meanwhile Castillo and Ollie Perez are eating up salary and the starting pitching is very suspect overall.
I’m not getting my hopes up for this year; maybe in 2-3 years with the new leadership in the dugout and office.

This makes perfectly good sense, but somewhere along the line you got some teams confused, Dave.
The Packers (or Icemen as you’ve been calling them) can’t beat the Jets in the Superbowl if you already had them play in the NFC or AFC Championship, now can they?

The next round is GB vs Chitown in the NFC Championship game and Da Jets vs. Steelers in the AFC Championship.

You are on record saying it will be Packers beating Jets in the Superbowl. I would like to see that, myself.

Then I can once again say (only rightly this time ;), Will that be Visa or MC?!!
