Kahwa Coffee wanted me to do their shops in three counties and wanted to know if I could offer a discount for multiple shops. What? Driving in crazy traffic all over the place? I should charge an extra fee if anything for sitting in stalled traffic. Didn’t want the job, didn’t look back.
In that case, I would bid vehicle costs, employee costs, my cut, + 30-40% for profit. Add that up into an hourly rate and put it in the bid. The Problem isn’t that they don’t know business expenses and margins, they think you don’t!
They’re counting on someone not knowing, and strategically exploiting that, and then grind them more (discount for multiple far flung locations as if they were all multiple suites in the same building)
amazing you’ve been able to make it work, or that they pay your rates, good for you
Not every company does. The problem is, in my opinion, there is always an uninformed joe bucket out there not knowledgeable enough to know he is not making enough money.
I can clean 12-15 stores in 4 hours or less .Geez
Hey… me too. What do you Charge? For your market, is it enough? Are you able to cover rent, car payments, insurances, taxes, pay an employee enough to keep him happy, etc,?? …you don’t have to answer that to me…
