WHY NOT JUST USE THIS CANISTER TO FEED A WATER FED POLE? NO MORE PUMPS or FILTERS

I was thinking being that I have been tinting windows for 15 years and using these canister preasure sprayers, why would these not work on a water fed pole?

Now if i got a RO/DI water filtration system for the house and filled 3 of my sprayers up there 5 gallons each why would this not work on small 20 to 30 window 2 or 3 story window cleaning jobs???

Just kicking around ideas here…

I fill up the tank and go to my local gas station and fill it up to 100 PSI air preasure the tank has a max air preasure of 120 PSI

Now one of these full tanks full with 100 PSI I could tint 80 large 130 x 60 windows and still have soapy water left over WITH NOT HAVING TO REFILL IT WITH SOLUTION OR AIR , NO PUMPING ETC THERE IS NO PUMP,

Now i am not sure if you guys know anything about window tinting but before you tint a window you must first spray the entire window soaking wet, razor clean the entire window, then soak the window again and the film to be applied, then spray the outside of the tint a bit for slip and squugee the tint down… THATS ALLOT OF SPRAYING

Also at my shop I have one of these tanks hooked up to 3 sprayers with hoses running above the cieling and the sprayers hanging down so theres a sprayer toward the rear of a car the drivers side of a car and the passenger side of the car and they all can be sprayed at the same time, Its got allot of ummmmffffff

So my thought is if you run on a scedule like I am and you know your next locations and your doing three 2 story buildings and 1 3 story building on thursday why can I not fill the tanks at home with a aquariuim style or other style RO/DI water system

And bring the light weight portable tanks to the job and feed the pole, and at the bottom of the poll use the locking trigger control to start and stop the flow of water AS PICTURED and the trigger with little modification can be attatched to the poll hose…

Any thoughts and suggestions???

also I see that you guys use pump control sprayers why not one of these poly 2 sprayers?? You pump the top and push down on a trigger to spray and the pump will last a long time…I use them all the time and have had 5 of them for the past 12 years
with no breaking or replacing or issues

Id think you find that filling up the tanks with pure water and going to the gas station everyday to be far more time consuming than making water on-site.

Another thing you have to remember is that when you have no water purification abilities in the field, once youre out, youre just out.

Not to mention that at a pressure of 100 PSI the water would come out so fast and hard that you would have to worry about a lot of splashback / spotting. I have a 45 PSI regulator on the intake to my system to prevent just that.

Honest question…

Are you affiliated with EDS Tint Supply?

Yes or No

Yes, but i could add a regulator as well in line… But I am not saying use this type set up and only this… I am kinda asking if you guys think it could work? I am looking for a solution to a couple of jobs that will need the water fed pole to be used. lets say 1 to 3 a day of 2nd or 3rd story floors 40 windows to 50 were there is no electric or supply ready available… Not saying that it is ideal for non stop all day use…

I do see your point about running out and that could be solved by bringing 2 new empty gas cans filled with filtered water… And also I do have a portable air compressor Ac powered that can fill the tanks on the job site and it does not take long at all about, 4 seconds a tank…

Ok Eddie, but you still haven’t answered my question…

YES… I did not see the last post of yours or i would have answered the first time… Why do you ask??

If you would like to advertise your equipment and / or training DVDs, there are advertising options available through WCR.

I’m sure if you contact Chris or Alex they will be more than happy to help you with your on-site marketing needs, and will also be able to help you make the right decisions regarding the questions you have about window cleaning equipment and pure water systems.

On a side note, the first year and a half I was in business I played around with hooking up / rigging / building all sorts of crazy tools and systems, all of which worked better in theory than in practice. In the long run, I realized that there is no substitution for the right tool built for the particular job.

Yes, every once in a while someone has a great idea, and when that happens the community jumps all over it and it becomes the new “norm”.

BUT… there are multi-million dollar companies putting years of R&D into tools built specifically for a job. I wish I had realized this earlier, because I spent thousands of dollars on my nonfunctional scrap collection that now resides in my basement.

As I said before, there really is no substitution for the right tools. The people at WCR are probably THE most knowledgable people in the intire industry when it comes to equipment. Save yourself a lot of time, money and frustration and give them a call.

Got it, and understood, Just to point out something I was not looking at it as advertising more like if I could help a fellow window washer out, i also posted links to other sites and i see you had edited some of my posts as competition to your forum here. Although I do not see how some of these sites posted are real competition to your sales base, But well understood and will not happen again…

On that note to change gears I do understand that there are company,s out there designing and putting money into RnD to make the right tools for the right job and the best tools for the job…

And thats great, and i am going to be purchasing and buying these items from your site here,

But what i did not see on your site or anywhere else is a honest solution to a problem that I am seeing in the future…

And that is this… I have a younger brother, we are 15 years apart, And yes same parents, Hes 19 and is working at I hope and going to colledge 2 days a week…

He has worked with me in the past and lets just say window tinting is not his thing and the HVAC-R field you need schooling like I have had and or someone to take the time and baby sit you and put the time and effort into training you, Which I do not see my brother doing…

But with cleaning windows I think this is something I can teach and show him and his 15 friends and have a good team of window cleaners working…

Also because my brother is going to school full time he can work on his own schedule with me…

Now I have just hired someone full time to clean windows and they will start Monday and my brother will be his helper…

And things will roll from there… So the issue i see in the future is my brother running around in his car , No truck, Will not buy him a truck etc…

And then if I hire 15 of his friends well some of them do not have trucks either

So a 40 gallon tank or bigger is out of the question and like I said before I am looking for a solution to a problom

And just because you have a basement full of failed ideas , does not mean that if you kept trying that you too may have came up with the next best thing in your field…

I happen to be very inventive and have a mechanical and engineering backround, and come from a family of engineer,s

Now being that i am sure i am not the first guy to think of this issue or need if i could make , help or develope a solution to my probloms and issues and others I will do so or try my best to do so… Thats just my nature

Also I think a forum is built and designed to share thoughts and ideas and suggestions good or bad…

Thats what makes the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA so great, because we can speak freely and share thoughts and ideas and valuable information.

And its the small guys like me and you when you were in the basement building things and trying things , that develope and make THE NEXT BEST THING… And put the big company,s in a state of panic with there Million dollar RnD group scrambling to keep up and not be left in the dust

So let me just say this… When I get everything and use everything I can promise you this… I will come up with a good , easy solution that people could use as an alternitive to a $5K or $6K piece of equipment that they may not need for that perticular job…

And when I do figure it out and put it togeather and perfect it… Do not worry… I will call you first and advertise and have you sell it on your site…

</SPAN>OK this is just another way you can get your water up the pole.</SPAN>

In regards to pressuring a container with air is very doable as well.</SPAN>

No different then a manual back pack pump.</SPAN>

So if you used a small compressor the type that plug in your cig lighter.</SPAN>

You could then regulate the air pressure the same as you would the water pump.</SPAN>

Right but the way i look at it is how much preasure do i really need? How much preasure will the tank loose per window with a regulator set to 45 lets say or 40PSI … Then there is no need to carry anything on your back, and no need to charge a battery for hours, Just 4 seconds to 2 min with a cheaper cigarette lighter style pump etc… And in most case,s for me power is there, just not the water spicket/supply

So having a good little compressor like a nail gun compressor , You could refill the canister in seconds charging the cylinder with full power and get to the next 5 or 10 windows or maybe more etc…

Hell I could fill it to max presure 120 PSI and put a regulator on it and have a nice stream of water for a while… And when it fades just plug in the compressor and shoot it with air for 3 seconds and bam I am back at it…

Also less things to fail, like a battery operated pump or your battery or an electric pump failing with a tank system…

Its just preasurized air like a tire, and these tanks do not leak at all in my experience with using them…

The bladder tanks you refer to are very nice. Many of us use a electric 12 v rechargeable sprayer from Hudson. Holds 4 gallons and will run several days on a charge. I myself keep one of these for hard to get to windows like decks with no stairs of interior open gardens that would make it difficult to pull hose from the truck mounted tank system in the truck. Her is how I use a back pack and van mounted unit together.

Thanks for the info, i tried calling you and left you a voicemail…

Robinson-Solutions Professional Window Cleaning: Lewis Doubtfire - Under Pressure

Thanks for the link, you see this is what i was thinking, Only the other tanks I was speaking of can hold more preasure… so there is no need to double the tanks togeather as this fella did… guess i will try it and see what happens, Cant hurt to try new things… And if it works, great…

Also i see that there are solid stream nozzles and a hi preasue fanning nozzles on the end of these brushes, Well odviously the fanning nozzles will waste less water… And im sure it can get the job done in this fashion, Its just how long will the presure last ??? Well as stated before all day with them when im tinting… So cant see why it would not work washing say 20 3 story and 20 2 story windows…

I guess i will find out, and again the only reason why i am trying to do something like this is because I have some jobs that are 3 and 4 story,s high , and I am trying to keep cost down by having the wahers use there own cars and just up ther pay little for doing so

So a convensional 150 to 250 gallon tank in this case will not work in the back of a honda , toyota , etc…

I am curious as to how many windows I could get done like this per 5 gallon tank…

Have you tried the search feature yet? There are lots of threads where using sprayers for wfp work has been discussed.
