Window Cleaner Rebuilding Life

For those of you who have been around for a few months you may Remember Manny Williams from Houston TX. Or as he is called on this forum Elite. Manny was fairly new to window cleaning and he used this site to network, learn and share. Then all of a sudden he went missing. Not a word from him since July 17th. I just figured business was doing great and he was too busy to log on. Not the case.

About 10 minutes ago Manny shot me a text message saying he was sorry he had not visited the site in a while and that his house had burnt down. He lost everything… Thankfully no one was injured. Manny, his wife and newborn all escaped unharmed.

Manny wanted me to tell everyone that he says hi and he hopes to be back online very soon. I asked him if he was accepting donations of any kind. He declined and told me that he has almost everything back in order. I’ll be sending him the only items he asked for, a few 18" scrubber covers.

Just wanted to keep the rest of our little WCR family up to speed on one of our friends. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

My thoughts are with Manny and his family.

I look forward to him posting here soon.

Yeah ditto that. I miss Manny posting he was a good time.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. Yep, my house burned to the ground. I needed a new roof anyway. Getting back on my feet has been a chore and I just got a computer and the internet today. Seems that some mice were chewing on some wires and started this whole mess. We are in the process of building a NEW (YIPPIE!) house and rebuilding the business as the chores of fighting with insurance companies and having to move far from my clients put a dent in our finances for a bit. We are now in an apartment closer to where we are building our new home, and that has things alot easier. Things are looking better now, and I look foward to reestablishing our presence on WCR. Man I have to tell you that watching all that you own, the THINGS that at the time seemed important, go up in flames makes you realize what is REALLY important, life. As today is my birthday, this has a more profound meaning. Sooo, I’m glad to back with my WCR friends, and look foward to this second chance at life and will be traveling through it this time with more enlightened eyes. Monday is my first job since the fire, and I am glad to be back in the show. Most of my gear was in my vehicle, so I didn’t loose much there. Mostly rubbers, scrubber sleeves, towels, and other minimal equipment was all of my business that was lost. (Besides customer information that was on my computer :frowning: ) I missed you all.

P.S. If anyone has a MesaBoogie Dual Rectifier guitar amplifier laying around, I could use one.

Hey Manny, I don’t suppose you’ll be playing “talking heads” c.d.'s anytime soon. What a nightmare loosing everything. I can believe the Insurance fiasco, why is it you pay them what they want & then they turnaround & put conditions in afterwards?
Good luck with the rebuilding…

Good luck with the recovery efforts and happy birthday!

Manual, I’m glad that you & your family were not harmed! Sorry that you lost so many belongings but glad that you were insured and can recover some (or hopefully most) of it.

I’m another window cleaner/musician here in the group. I know how important the music gear is so I hope you are able to recover in that department too. It’s hard to insure music gear but maybe your homeowner’s insurance will do the right thing.

I admire your fantastic attitude. With that attitude you will surely be very successful in the window cleaning business.

Best of luck in all that you do!

Richard

Happy Birthday! Glad to hear you are doing better. Even though I haven’t met you yet I look forward to talking with you more. best wishes and good luck on that mesa boogie. I have been in search for one for years now. It’s my white whale I guess you could say. the last piece of the puzzle lol. Did you mention to the insurance company that you had ten full mesa stacks in your garage? Joking of course.

Good to hear all is well. I don’t know what you believe or if you believe. Quite frankly it is none of my business, but I have been praying for you and your family.

I wish you the best homie.

I hope everything gets back to normal as soon as possible for you Manny.

If you have used thecustomerfactor.com you would have not lost any customers data, being it is a web based program. So all of your clients info is on a secured server.

hope all is well.

WOW.

Sorry, Manny. Hope things can get back to normal quickly for you!

Being local to him I feel ashamed that I didn’t see this earlier, probably I could had done something or at least offered.
If there’s something that I can do just let me know

Family is Ok so that’s the only important thing

My son has a sudden fascination with wanting to be a firefighter. I am proud.
Thanks man. I got my girl and sons. I do miss my amp though:), but eh, whatever. My wife doesn’t miss my elvis bobble head:rolleyes:

Now…back to dancing with my insurance agent.

Dear manny,

I can’t fathom what a loss like that would be like…
Thank God you and your family are safe and still together.
May God bring you guys even closer together through these tough times.

However, I haven’t ever dealt with any real trajedy as the most horrific accident of my life is probably that time when I got stung by a hornet and my hand swelled up… so I guess my opinion aint worth much.
