Doesn’t the 8 foot section have a v groove? If yes then I would use that as the top. If the window is to wide to get with one placement just do one side and then place the ladder on the other side and do that side. if the 15 foot was the length then clean the top half then the bottom half. with larger pieces of glas you can clean the window in sections. There is generally always somewhere to put a ladder. Sometimes there is not and in those case a pole is all you can do without using a lift. I would have to see a picture to give you some direction on it.
I think for comercial jobs, a ladder would be too damn slow and cumbersome. I could not imagine feeling like an inch worm moving down and then having to unstack ladder to make sure I am proper foot from wall. I also know some people here said 4ft middle was really handy but now that I got a 6ft base, a 6ft middle, another 6ft middle and a top 8, what if I am too high above the window? Does that extra 2 ft really sabotoge my ability to use vgroove? I wish the Vgroove could fit on the middle also, then I wouldn’t have to buy another 6 foot top. I guess what I have to do is just start using my ladders and then I will know in time if I need a 6ft top. I don’t think there is any reason I need to go buy everything now
You can use just two bottom 6 ft sections and an 8 ft top which is only 2 ft higher than 3 6 ft sections. the v groove for the side of the window on the corner can be used anywhere along the side of the window. You can also place the ladder above the window as long as there is nothing above the window obstructing the ladder like an over hang or eve. I think you are over thinking things a bit. you will be fine with what you have for a while but I think you will be happier with 4 6 ft pieces and a 4. But go with what you have and you should be fine until you can afford the extra pieces.
Damn, well I think for now until I get my first residential, I should hold off on just buying more stuff. If I buy a 6ft top now, then I will have 6ft base, 6ft middle, 6ft middle and then 6ft top. But what about the 8? Can you do a 6ft, 6ft,6ft, 6ft, 8ft safely?
I never usded them yet but, there are keep aways you can get for sectionals they sell them here its on my list.
jkim, sounds like you might be in the wrong profession, last I heard window cleaning is an inherently dangerous profession. Yes we all do our best to make it as safe as posable but if you think you can avoid going up a ladder and sill do this work you’re kidding yourself. Maybe you should think about finding a safer line of work.
Ooookaaaay…
You do realize you just resurrected a 2+ year old thread just to bash on the poster, right?
I know there are window cleaners out there that are 100% ladderless. Unless they’re all lying about it
I’m not saying that’s for me. I’ve got too small a market to be so selective in the work I do. But in larger markets there’s more opportunity to develop a niche like that.
This guy hasn’t posted since Mar '13. In fact all of his posts were from Mar '13. Wonder where he is now and how long he’s been in a different profession. Probably has some sectionals in the back of his garage that he’d sell cheap.
Hey, it works for Obama: it’s all Bush’s fault.

Thank you, Jared, for bringing this discussion to a whole new low…
Now that we’re wet, let’s go swimming, shall we? Lol…
Just because “politicians do it”, doesn’t mean it works for them. The principle of confirmation bias means people already for him will repeat it as fact, and those already against him will use it as further evidence of why he’s incompetent.
There’s a very small sliver of the population who are capable of (or choose to) analyzing new information as reliable or not, and actually changing their opinion based on new information. Everybody else pretty much has their mind made up on what they want to hear, and they wait to hear it. Jmho
/soapbox rant
I agree and it’s why I look forward to a King who will rule with a rod of iron and who cannot be bribed, cajoled, tempted, or threatened. Oh, and btw, He also knows what you did, why you did it, and it’s all recorded in a book.
You and me both
i thought kings invented being bribed.
