2nd Story Tools

I am just starting out and could possibly have a job with a few windows on a second story. A couple of them seem hard to get to. I was just wonder what tools you guys recommend to make 2nd story window cleaning easier?

I got the Luke Start Kit to get me started but just need to know what I need for taller windows.

Thanks for all the help.

I’m not looking to buy a water fed pole just yet.

Is this a home? Do the windows tilt-in? Otherwise you will have to ladder up or pole them from the ground.
Do you know any experienced Window Cleaners that could lend you a hand?

It is a commercial building that basically looks like a house. I don’t know any window cleaners as there does not seem to be many out here.

If you bought Luke’s starter kit, then you’ve probably seen some of his videos, right? He’ll do commercial jobs with a pole. I’d recommend this. Before you get to the job, find somewhere to practice poling until you’re reasonably comfortable.

So you recommend a 24’ pole over a ladder?

If you have no experience with a pole, then use a ladder.

You said you were fairly new so you should use a ladder @ first. Getting face to face with the glass is the best way until you have some more experience. You can leave streaking on the glass when you first start using a pole. Do you or someone you know have a 2nd story house? Practice on that before you use a pole on a job. Seriously in front of a customer you want to appear as the most professional and experienced window cleaner they know.

Actually that is a scrubber. Who knows what he cleans it off with?

Standoff AND adjustable legs…

IDK, honestly I bought a stand off for the 1st time last year, never used it yet 20 years using extension ladders and never had any problems without them.

Man since I got mine last month, I literally haven’t taken it off my one main ladder. That thing is tits ( . )( . )

Hmmm, must have way different situations. I use mine just about every time I use my extension ladder. I often use it to rest the legs on the edge of the roof when cleaning gutters too so I don’t scratch or bend gutters by leaning the ladder on them. Some window situations I just use ladder mitts, but most cases I snap on the standoff.

I use this for that

Yep, I’ve seen that and will probably get one before long. But I still find the Werner Standoff to be great for tall windows that are second floor, and often resting the standoff on the center cross member of big tall windows, and holding up away from the gutters. It just works better for me to be a little away from the window instead of right up on top of the window.
