Has anyone used 99design? I’m thinking about trying this for a logo design. I called a design company and was quoted $2000 for a logo design. They told me if cost was a factor to try this website where college design students and novice designers enter a contest and you pick the winner. I think it cost $299
A local sign company did mine for free when I ordered my graphics from them. $2000 for a few hours work is outrageous.

It’s perception, what will people pay, what skills are brought to deliver the end service.
I have some extremely good window cleaning contracts, many would say the price for time spent too is outrageous.
Use fiverr. They make great logos and it’s 25-50$

True @anon46335951 , but 99% of us window cleaners would probably not pay that kind of money for a logo, just not much ROI unless you are a big company with tons of visibility. It’s fair to say .5% of my customers could even identify with what my logo looks like because I don’t do any advertising outside of my website and it’s not even on there. I have a friend who owns a very successful landscaping company and his trucks are easily more recognizable than any other company because of the graphics scheme.

Image and first appearances are important.
A logo can be a very important tool, can impact a customer’s perception, purchase decisions and overall attitude toward a product/service.
Certain colors, patterns, space and wording can be effective to get someone to notice and understand instantly and get noticed above others if placed in same advertising spaces.
