How do you figure out square footage on large buildings. Because its not like your power washing windows and all so you subtract that or make that part of it?
For me it’s simple. But keep in mind I price per window so sq ft is not an issue for me. But when I first started I wanted to know the size of the buildings I was cleaning. This is one of the first buildings we cleaned and I use it as a baseline as it’s pretty much square.
It’s 100ft front x 100ft left (or right) side. Gives you 10,000 sq ft. X 3 levels the building is roughly 30,000 sqft.
Took two people 1 day to complete. Could have been done in 6 hours but my 1st generator broke down and I had to rush out to buy a new one. So now when I quote buildings I count the windows, figure the amount of time to clean them, then I price it out. I then for my own peace of mind calculate out the sqft of the place and work off of the building shown in the image. If the two methods are close. I submit the bid.
I dont powerwash buildings like this. But if I did I would not care about the windows. I would use a simple method of sqft total. I might bump off 10 or 15% and tell them it’s for not doing the windows.
if all you are cleaning is the outer surfaces, I think each story is typically 10 ft.
use a measuring wheel for the width. a good rough estimate of the bulding size is really all you need.
That was the duuuuuhhhh answer I was looking for. All the ability to solve critical problems and the simplest of things slip by. Thanks appreciate the help.
If anyone is willing to help me a little 1 on 1 I have a job I’m bidding. Pm if can, I will try to help u back out any way I can.
Sorry bro I had no idea you were looking for heights of floors. Listen if you ever want a rough way to figure out height because some buildings can be 12ft floors. Take the longest pole you have or ladder and put it up against the building.
I’m headed there with my wfp. My big thing is how can I bachieve best results without having to get any lift equipment. I think the xjet w 10 ft pole will do. I need a fully biodegradabl chem for outside paint. The composition of the building is brick, concrete paint.
im sold that the softwash is the way to go… whats your average per SQFT price?
