hello everyone, i’ve been doing storefront window cleaning for about 4 and a half yrs now and have always thought about offering a cleaning service to my stores too. I know its not as profitable as window cleaning but i’m looking at it as a way to increase income from people im already associated with, and I could have employees who wouldnt want to be window cleaners do the work. the thing is i"m talking cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vaccuming, taking out trash etc. I dont have any knowledge of carpet cleaning, stripping floors and buffing floors and am not interested in doing those things anyway. so i’m wondering is what i’m speaking of too limited to offer,do most people want someone who does it all? are there any cons to what i’m thinking here? any input would be appreciated
Well if u don’t know how to strip,and re-wax a floor using a buffer i wouldn’t offer that one,unless you like a good rodeo
I do exactly that and sub out deep cleaning of floors to a carpet cleaner I know.

What kind of hourly rate do you shoot for compared to window cleaning?

I do the same as Logan. Most of the cleaning accts. I have had don’t require that you provide carpet and VCT cleaning, but I have access to excellent contractors when necessary.
I like having office cleaning accounts because they are reliable year-round and can be done in any weather as long as the roads are passable.

Usually around 30 for janitorial 40-45 for house cleaning 75+ for route windows and 100+ for any other window cleaning.

hey guys thanx for the response, Jus curious, I just gave a guy a price on cleaning his small store once a week of $65 dollars, the job should only take about 45 mins with about 20 mins of travel time each way.Does that sound to high?? its bin like two weeks and he hasnt called.I feel i gotta consider some travel time into the equation, not every job is gonna be around the corner from each other and if I was paying employyes to do the work drive time is a factor, Or even if there was another job not far i could link up with it I’m thinking i should still account for some drive time,I’ve had window cleaning jobs in the past i gave a low price on because I had another spot around the corner on the same frequency then after a while the other spot closed down and that job stuck out of the route a little at a price that was to low for the travel, do you guys add some time to the price to account for that?
That sounds a little high I would have bid around 50 dollars even with travel
Yes it is high. To be competitive you need to be around 20-25 per labor hour with a minimum per visit. 60 is a high per visit charge if you want to close accounts.
