Advanced Squeegee Fun! Post yours

I felt like making a quick video of some fun squeegee moves. Please post your killer moves!

I like the “Zee” (what is a “zed”?) method. I’ve never tried that before.

I want someone to tell me how to make a smiley face and mickey mouse. I cannot make fun shapes with my squeegee. I’m not looking to be like the picasso guy, just something fun for the kiddies who grub up my windows.

Zed is how pretty much anyone outside of the US says Z.

i knew the minute I watched this video played back I’d be questioned about that.

Thanks. Like the first one best. Keep posting videos like this.

Killer moves huh? Well I tried a couple of these moves during lunch today and let’s just say I needed the rest of the afternoon off… Can anyone say Doans?

I know that Canada teaches Zed (Weird Al taught me that on that one song). I was just playing the dumb american.

But cool videos.

Not surprised!

lol i didn’t realize all these techniques had their own name… i wonder what other odd name techniques i do without realizing it.

Ok, I can’t do a video but I can tell you. I’m facing a commercial door and I start at the bottom left and bring the squeegee up to the top left corner across the top and down the right side to the bottom. If you’re careful all you need detail is the bottom a bit.
BTW. I also wear a headlamp that on second click turns red. When people ask I tell them that it’s a special “infrared” light that highlights finger prints.

what size squeegee is optimum with this move?

I tried that ^^^ today. Seemed to work, except I kept leaving water at the top of the fan. Not sure if I had too much slip or was just going too fast. Had to finish the bottom with horizontal pulls.

18" in either my twirly bird Wagtail PC, or my trusty Ergotec for the doors that I clean. I love em both.
Notch them puppies for the angled seals and they will bark for you!

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. If I haven’t done it in a while, I bungle it first time. The horizontal pull is good.

I can’t really do this with a door, but I do it with windows that are just a little bigger than my squeegee (20" windows / 18" squeegee, 16" windows / 12" squeegee, etc).

BTW. I also wear a headlamp that on second click turns red. When people ask I tell them that it’s a special “infrared” light that highlights finger prints.
Does this work??? If so, it’s probably the greatest tip I’ve heard all year. Having a fingerprint highlighter would be awesome and would assuage my OCD. I hate seeing fingerprints on the door I just cleaned.

Yes!
It is great!
Just turn the light off, no fingerprints!

I measured today and I have been doing 24" and 27" door panes with an 18" squeegee. @JaredAI, I have also used this with windows much wider. I’m pretty sure that Mark has posted about this before and called it the “Snake”. P&B also shows it in his videos. If you can get the hang of it you can clear a lot of water with a few up and downs instead of a bunch of back and forth. Just a different way of doing it and getting away from the same repetitive swipes.
