Yea I clean at night alot. I find I get done quicker and you get to avoid all those old people asking what you use then say your lying when you tell them soap and water lol

Hey there H-Man,

I start a lot of mornings between 4:30/5:30 and in the fall and winter it stays dark in the morning until 7:30…Doing morning work makes for a good day ! I do have a couple commercial accounts that need me to come in the evening when they are closed (medical clinics) I’ll work until midnight on those !

i’ve been trying to get a few dunkin donuts around here based on me sayint that i can get it done before customers get there. their guy now starts at 7:30. which isnt really a bad thing i guess but if i owned a store i would want to minimize the amount of service that my customers see.

Yep, I just finished at two different commercial accounts…way easier to do them when barely anyone is there.

We have actually done a lot of resi work at night in the evening…due to last minute people who “need” it done today. Of course the price goes up though…

Last year we worked all night on one job in April. They had a wedding on Saturday and “kept meaning to call us” blah blah. Finally called on Tuesday. It was in a gated community that doesn’t allow contractors there after 7pm, so the homeowner had to fill out some forms to get permission for us to stay.

We arrived at the job at 7pm on Thursday night (after a full day’s work) and finished it up at 4am. I charged him $2100 for the job. It was fun though, the homeowners stayed at a friend’s house so they wouldn’t be in our way, so we just listened to music and worked with no interruptions.

I service a big bar & grill round here at night on there slow nights.

it’s way better working with light to help see streaks and such so i try to acquire day time accounts mostly but money is money ill take it during the nite or day don’t get me wrong…lol

These are really cool experiences. I’ve done a few jobs at night, most memorably, I cleaned a school, and to stay out of the contractors way, I asked if I could jus clean it at night, So for a week straight we worked nights cleaning the school, no one in our way, it was peaceful, fun too.

We start most days at 4am doing restaurants and grocery stores.
Will get the commercial stuff done by 9AM and then will do Residential afterwards.

On a regular basis.

How many guys, Michael? Did y’all work all day Friday too?

I got into window cleaning partly to be able to control my schedule. No way I’m working at 2:30am or even 4 or 5am. That’s sleeping time and sometimes sleep is way more important than money. I can make enough when I’m awake. But that’s just me.

I used to start at 4 a.m. on the Regent in Sydney, Herman.

Two. Yes.

I’ve done some late night window cleaning. While kind of fun, I found it a little more difficult to control streaking and to get everything dry because of humidity levels I assume.
Speaking of Dunkin’ Donuts, a resi. customer had asked me about doing 5 of his because the current company gets there real early and tends to leave streaks. So that would be my biggest concern. The off hours wouldn’t bother me otherwise if I could get some breathing room the next day.

Actually I enjoy cleaning at night. I live in the desert and in the day its just too hot and the streaks get out of control. I guess that I had worked 25 years on the graveyard shift before I started my business helps too.

I worked too many grave yard shifts in my previous career. I hope I never have to do anymore. I can understand some commercial accounts that need night work due to being busty during the day, however, I hope I never have to do any. As my business grows, I may find it necessary to do nights for some jobs, but i will have my guys do those. I have gotten too used to sleeping at night. lol. Guess I am getting lazy in my old age.

Wasn’t your old job in law enforcement, Phil? You get your sleep. You’ve earned it. I bet you aren’t lazy, either! lol
