I’m looking to possibly add carpet cleaning to my list of services. Any other window cleaners also do carpet cleaning? What are the seasons with carpet cleaning? I’m wondering if it will supplement my very slow winter window cleaning months. I’m thinking of starting with a low moisture portable unit. Any tips or thoughts would be appreciated.
I know Lance in Arizona does both and he says they compliment each other nicely. It sounds like CC would be a great way to keep cash flow up in the winter.
Uncle Phil now happily cleans carpets instead of windows.
Kurt Tony is right about Lance, has a very sucessful carpet and window cleaning business in the Phoenix Area. And he does know the business. Always very helpful when called upon.
Kurt I would be more than happy to answer any questions regarding CC. there are also many forums out there… as well as many types of CC, the preferred method is of course Hot Water Extraction cleaning… Encap is rapidly becoming a popular way to clean… 1st and foremost, look for a IICRC class in your area, and get educated… there is great $$$ to be made diversifying
Thanks a lot Lance. I’ve started researching on a few other forums. I’ll definitely be giving you a call sometime soon to pick your brain. Thanks for the support. My main question at this time is how carpet cleaning does during December, Jan and Feb here in the Midwest? I don’t want to have to lay my window cleaners off. Also, I really don’t want to get into WC route work that much. The main reason is that Fish has the market pretty much cornered. Another is because our services are catered towards residential customers. Just look at our logo.

House cleaning is not easy in busy life, we have to appoint a maid or to contact with home clean service provider to clean the house professionaly but the cost of maid is big problem however there are various online companies that provide Home Cleaning Services at economical prices.
Kurt another thought, Have you looked into “hard surface care” ?
Not really. I did a google search and didn’t find too much. Are you talking about tile and grout cleaning? How is the initial investment in that? Do you think that would be a quicker and easier add to my service list?
not Tile/Grout specific… whatever hard surfaces may be popular in your neck of the woods… for me, granite countertops, travertine hone/polish, (natural stones) Just another way to diversify… for now lets start with CC
I’d love to pick your brain. I’ll prob give you a call on Tuesday if you don’t mind.
no prob…
Hey Lance, Thanks for the call this morning. I was looking into some machines and think this may be a good fit. It’s a King Cobra 1200 Pro. It can do both carpet cleaning and tile and grout and hard surface cleaning. It’s about 6,000 bucks but figure it may be worth it. What do you think? Or do you think this is overkill? I posted a link below.
I can think of better machines for a LOT less $$$ with an MSRP around $3,300
Thanks a lot. I actually have heard a lot about Mytee. I think I may get that one instead. If you were in my shoes doing 100% residential, would you go the encapsulation route, or the mytee M-12 route?
Yes, I think you can go with Carpet cleaning. Its a good choice and can be very beneficial for you.
Carpet cleaning seasons are exactly like wc. But does carry a little more work than in the winter. Encap process requires an extraction after the third encapsulate cleaning so I would look into extraction first. Are you looking into a truck mount or portable unit first? Check out jon Don. They have used equipment for sale all over the country. I’ve been cleaning carpets for 12 years now. I agree with iicrc classes (they changed their name to cleantrust recently). They carry a ton of knowledge that even seasoned carpet cleaners can pick new things up.
Tile and trout cleaning is real easy, and a great add on but wouldn’t focus on it. Goes the
same for hardwood, if you want to get into that, basic tycote is a pretty good method for maintenance
