Anyone clean Solar farms and/or greenhouses?

As far as solar farms, who would you even contact? DPW? Town Hall?

Solar IS everywhere. Further the glass does have a first surface factory coating. So there is a science to protecting/maintaining that surface. Most will want a WFP to clean panels. But silica spotting CAN happen. I have seen it on large buildings in the sun. A low TDS will not show silica content. There are tests that will. Maybe the WFP guys can help us out here. John can you help us out?

is that what that’s called, silica spotting, where it looks like commercial glass in the sun has not been washed at all?

I guess it could get heavy. But it is probably invisible at first. Then can be seen in the direct sun only. Then more and more easy. But it is spotting.

wouldn’t silica be part of what is removed when we see TDS of zero? or is something else at play here?

@Henry

TDS stands for Total Dissolved Solids. But this is not necessarily true. Zero is not always zero. Silica sand is a dissolved solid but does not show on a TDS meter. And dissolved silica will spot. Let me say this. Silica spotting is a hidden demon that very few companies have recognized. Everyone gets so excited with their TDS meters that they do not pay attention to the real science here. Think of this. Exactly how does a TDS meter work and what exactly is it measuring?

No expert here, but this thread prompted me to google how to clean solar panels. The results showed they are designed to be self cleaning. Per Henry, am going to check into silica spotting. Never heard of that. Thanks

how would you charge or how much? single story vs two plus stories per panel?
