Anyone work 7 days a week?

I was working long hours M-F for a while, but have spread my time out over 7 days. I usually reserve weekends for “special ops” rush jobs (which I charge more for), but as I get busier, I’m getting kind of tired. Yea I know “quit complaining” you say, but I get home, crack a beverage, and pour it all over my couch fast asleep before taking a sip kind of tired. Wake up at midnight, and start washing my hucks and clothes. This rhythm is tiring me out even more. I’m about to start an office gutter/window job, and it’s noon. Well, I’m single, and went out last night, so that’s my excuse.

I’ve always been bad with a consistent schedule. Running my own show hasn’t helped at all.

If some of you can give me a succinct (or lengthy) rundown of your average day from wake to crash, that may help me out a bit. Also, along the lines of the title, how many of you are working 7 days a week?

I’ve been working 6 days a week since the first week of October. I only have 2 days/month for storefront work, the rest is residential customers.

Right now it’s a lot of gutter cleaning, gutter guard installation, heating cable installation, window cleaning, and house washing.

Saturday’s are usually half days/shorter days. Ya gotta keep your sanity amongst the madness. I don’t take any new calls for work on the weekends. I save all calls/emails back for Monday (the time depends what I have booked for that day, but always after 10am for calling back) I just take all my notes down and set them aside for calls back “during business hours”

Also, I stopped using my MacBook for work related office stuff when at home. Using it comfortably on the couch was not very productive at the end of a long day. Best office investment was a desk, nice chair and an iMac desktop. Now to get work done I sit in my chair at my desk and get down to business.

Hey champ i am always behind and thankfully my customers have patientence with me. I gonna go ahead and train someone because a company wants me to help them on 3 commercial sites but its time to hire and catch up because i feel i will be even farther behind to try and catch up with them now with what im gonna do. And when i return we are gonna move further.

… And be owned by my customers? No thanks.

Thats cool and nobody owns me i do what i do. Why not. My family depends on me to keep them off the streets. Even if i was richer i would still set an example… example

… Working 7 days is an example of some positive quality?
Raising rates, managing time would also be examples.

…Sure but who sets the schedule? That’s why I work for myself…to set the schedule.
Or raise prices so I make the same money with less customers…

Absolutely champ its what i need to fix but i created a car washing buisness for my kids to make them money on the weekends.

I’m with you, raise rates to get the same $ with less days in the field.

Last week I started raising my prices with each new request, and still people are booking work. I love it and hate it.

Being confident with higher pricing is key, first couple estimates I gave for over $1000 I was almost nervous to give them the price. Now I just tell them the price and answer all questions it entails, they keep booking with me and I won’t complain about that.
