Awning Cleaning Quote?

Hey Gang…I have to submit some pricing on this large awning cleaning job. The awnings aren’t ripped or torn, but they are extremely dirty. I feel confident that I can improve the appearance but I don’t think I can bring them back to life. On two of the awnings there is a large concentration of bird droppings. Any advice on pricing, chemicals or the best method you’ve found would be great.

Clean and seal !! Low pressure is the safe and less risk on seams!! U will be doing the windows too!! Take befor and after pic for show and tell !! U can clean awning two or three x a year. Take care of the bird thing too. Use awning chem only !! Other chem are too high of ph. Theres a lot of awnings out there !! Check the search button on awning cleaning. Check out the sites there .aj and do it right … This is a image buss. Good luck ! Stan, pro window kleening, 27 years and pro

Still unsure of a price though…I can price smaller awning jobs no problem…It’s the biggies I struggle with. Anybody with a price suggestion would be great. I have a number in my head but I’m wondering if it’s too low.

Apply factor bidding principles – if you can price a small job, you can price a big job as well.

I see what you’re saying. The thing is is that this isn’t a service that I generally offer for that very reason. If I can get a handle on how to bid it then I can move forward. I don’t do highrise work and have no idea how to bid it. I could try, but I am certain there would be things that I would leave out by accident. I trust the experts on this message board and I have little clue as to how to price it. I’d like for someone to say: “bid $500 and you’ll need this and that to do the job”.

Have you read Wayne Shockey’s posts yet?

About 1 a sq ft or so. Is there water close by ??? Is there lights to clean too ?? U will be cleaning all windows after the awning cleaning!!! U should clean these 2-3 x a year !! Sealing will keep the color green and make them last longer !! Like a open weave to me !! If u check out ajs they will have tape and product for you !! Do-it-right has some things too!! U have poles and hose. U can do it with a pressure washer but risky !! A person has to be so carefull… I know wayne does it that way. He allso has to haul water on a lot of projects !!people just build and don’t think of washing the parking lot or awning !!some places i have to drag 200 ft of hose !! A good lg ladder helps too to get in side with grid or lights and bird do do . This will open a whole new area for u and make some good bucks too!!stan, pro window kleening for 27

All the installers have cleaning instuctions and how not to void the warranty. To make it simple, don’t use any harsh chemicals becuase of warranty. It is best to call to find out what the installers are charging to re-fabric and at least you will know you are not over there price. soft soap and no chemicals.

What about awning-specific cleaning chemicals such as those from ARS, Winsol, and Do-It-Right?
