B-B shot and bullet hole stratgies

What do you do with a glass that has repairable surface damage but also has a B-B shot hole in it?

Previously, a window broke on me when a crack that started under the frame, extended to where the glass had become heated. Since then I have been careful to closely check the edges for stress cracks.
I have been repairing B-B shot holes for a long time by filling them in with glass repair resin. So I repaired two B-B shots in the glass and carefully polished out the scratches, no problems.
B-B shot can be a nice round cone missing from the glass with no cracks eminating from the hole, or it can have chunks of glass hanging and cracks spreading from the hole. I don’t think that scratch repair should be attempted on glass that has cracks in it, but I would say that it is possible to repair the cone shaped holes and then repair light scratches, being very careful about heat and pressure.

I’d have a waiver explicitly for that. They can see it’s damaged by the BB and they probably are considering replacement any way.

I did a bid on 11 panes, 6 of them had BB holes. The company was trying to evaluate replacing all the glass or not. Feel them out and have them sign a waiver if they want the scratches out and can live with the BB holes.

I hate bb holes. I pull out an old rubber every time I come across one.

Hello again.
The point I was tring to make is that it is possible to repair B-B shot holes. And, that once the holes with no cracks is properly filled in, it is possible to repair scratches in some cases.
