Bank Drive threw Glass

Is it possible to remove scratches from bullet proof glass ?

Bulletproof glass is actually a polycarbonate plastic and laminated glass bonded product.

Novus makes plastic-related polishing products and equipment.

Contact GlassRenu for their advice.

Had a call to remove a gouge in a bullet proof drive up teller window which cost $5000. The gouge was only 1 inch long. I did some research before going to the site. It appears that you could have either a glass or a polycarbonate outer layer and subsequent alternating layers of glass and polycarbonate. I asked the construction manager which type was installed and he said it was glass. While attempting to remove the damage with the GlassRenu system, which would be my 1st weapon of choice, the “glass” surface would cloud up and then get what appeared to be little sticky glue balls around the edges of the repair area. This was a polycarbonate outer layer. Needless to say the $5000.00 teller window had to be replaced now because there was a 10 inch diameter circular cloudy scratchy mess right in front of where the teller would be. OOOPS! The construction manager was a little upset but i reminded him that HE said it was a glass outer layer. He concurred and it was going to be his problem, not mine. We checked the specs on the b p glass and found that yes it was a poly outer layer. Just a little heads up—Make The Customer Responsible For Researching What Type Of Bullet Proof Glass Is Installed!!! And you can remove scratches from b p glass if it has a glass outer layer.

thanks… Im thinking i will stay away from this type of stuff…
