Becoming a window cleaner at 16

Great to hear that there are so many young fellow Window Cleaners)

Thats great. At first i really wanted to find somebody who can give me a job few days a week when i tell him i’m free, but couldn’t think of anybody so i am starting out by my self.

16 is a good age to get started in this business. The best thing you have going for you is you are open and ready to learn. The caution is beware of how you learn. The most dangerous mentor you can have is a window cleaner who think they know everything. And their way is the only and right way. With that said keep your eyes open and your common sense in check.

It depends on the state. I’m cleaning windows in Maryland and it is the one business in the state that you don’t need a license to operate. Definitely get liability insurance to cover your behind. I started window cleaning at 22 years old and am turning 50 this December. I wish I had started at 16, that puts you way ahead of the curve. Cheers! and good luck
