Best Credit Card Rewards?

Guys,

I’m looking to switch or add a new credit card this year.

Was wondering if anyone has some advice on which cards have the best kickbacks?

I personally have capital one, I like the emails they send me to let me know if I purchase at certain stores ill get cash back. The business has a cc from the bank with better interest

I think the WCRA Gas Card program will have some great deals. We just have to wait for them to send out the packets. Man it’s taking a long time.

@Kate is still in contact with the people it is coming…

Seth we have a good Amex airline one… I put everything on it and pay it off every month… It gets a lot of my air travel paid for… thats my favorite…

Fidelity has a card that will contribute up to $500.00 a year to your Fidelity Retirement Account. I have mine linked to contribute to a Roth IRA so I get to withdrawl tax free at retirement.

I have a AMEX Now through costco, it gets us 3% cash back on gas up to 5k. That runs out in about 7 months tho…

I’m think the cards that offer airline rewards are the best value. Ill look into that.

Is that right? But the only thing is, if you already contribute out of pocket the MAX allowed by law, where do those points go?

You also have the choice to just apply them as regular points. You can accumulate the points without deciding to contribute to the IRA. Then decide and have then turn points into dollars and contribute.

If you have a wells fargo mortgage, i think there is one that puts the rewards points towards your mortgage

Our mortgage is through Wells so I’ll have to look into that one, thanks!

I cut up all cards a few years ago and never looked back

why

You can’t get in trouble if you don’t have one at all.

Thats way!!

I guess that makes sense, however,

Over the past 4 years I have earned 2000+ in cash back programs.

I see it as a wise move if you are fiscally responsible and disciplined enough to make necessary purchases.

Any purchase I make, I ensure that I have that liquid cash available to pay it off in full at the end of 30.

True true.

thats very true until you forget a payment or some emergency comes up and you decide to make min. payments to cover other expenses

Chase Freedom is good. 1% back on everything. 3% additional on different categories every 3 months. No annual fee. Pay your balance off every month and that’s FREE money. Yeah! Last winter I redeemed my points for a check. Used the money to pay my mortgage that month. Going to do it again this winter. Works out great when winter months are slower…Chase Ink is good too I hear. Sorry guys, didn’t mean to sound like a credit card salesman.
