Best oil / grease cutter?

I have for some years felt there are better and best solvents to remove stubborn oil and grease from glass. I know some of you don’t like to get into solvent / window cleaning solution debates and I’m not trying to start one. Still, what is your best solvent to remove an unknown oil from glass?

I have found a mixture of Dawn, ammonia and water to cut most oils off of glass.

Hey Theo-MaN…

This will do the job and it’s not a solvent and it’s ORGANIC…

Either Titan Green or Oil-Flo for me.

What are your ratios? How much GG4, Dawn and ammonia do you think works best?

Hey Tony,
Have you ever used Ammonia? If so why do you like Titan Green better? How much Titan Green would you add to an 8 oz float bottle GG4 concentrate?

I have used both ammonia and vinegar on different occasions and besides the smell they both bother my hands after a few hours of work. I’ve never had that issue w/ either Oil-Flo or Titan Green and they give me great results.
As for the amount of TG I use the spray bottle to add it directly to the window or strip washer.

Hey Tony,
I’ve been meaning to try Titan Green on restaurant glass with greasy fingerprints. I hope it’s O.K. on tinted film. Or does it break down the adhesive like amonia.

Nuv…Howdy

Say try Titan Green And TSP as a test process and see for yourself which works better. TSP don’t attack tinting, and you can do it with warm water indoors, and you’ll see that it works better than anything else.2 table spoons into 2 gallons of water…

Do the test and evaluate it, and make an bias opinion !

Good luck, and let us know what you come up with !

Dange with expanded Range

Hi Richard. The Titan is totally safe for use on tint.

I spray a little Zep on, let it sit for 30 seconds, and the grease comes right off. Spray-away works too, but I can’t stand the way it smells so I don’t use it
