Best squeegee for fanning? 1) T-shaped or Rounded? 2)Channel/Handle Preference?

Shoot…

Let me know if you like this thread…

I believe that rubber has been changing over the years and I’d like to see some opinions on here. I’ve been cleaning windows for 7 years. Don’t be afraid to input some ideas.
I’m currently using Unger Ninjas with either Ettore round or Unger round I’ve used just about every rubber and squeegee. I’d like to hear some other ideas and what y’all feel about the types of rubber and squeegees out there for fanning/S-technique. Thanks

I use the Wagtail wide body (orbital or combi) with pad for fanning external. Wagtail handle of course. For the last year I’ve been using the Facelift Razr Red rubber. Beautiful slip on the glass and lasts ages. As far as a traditional squeegee I use a modded (Polznbladz 45 and dogear) 10" Unger Ergotec with Unger Rubber. For fanning the Unger with Unger works best for me.

I’m not all that familiar with the t-shaped /rounded description, I can only assume you mean standard vs a wagtail.
for me its always standard either a brass or a sorbo, I dislike wagtails, they need to be modified to work to a standard I am happy with, also the wrist movement is more detrimental than well taught technique.

Defiantly wagtail for me, I find it’s versitility overrides any of its downfalls. It’s downfall is that the Chanel and the pads both need to be modified before you use it. Although when modified correctly it does a 99 percent job every time.

What mods do YOU do to the channel? 45 & dog ear? Or something else?

For me I like the brass Ettore channels with quick release handles. Plain and simple. Perfect weight. I’ve got’m dog eared and cut at 30% angle. I carry a super system handle on my belt for when I need it. The steccone were light and the sorbos were heavy. Old timer brass is just right.

“t-shape/rounded” is the shape of the base of the rubber, designed to fit different types of channels. For example t-shape rubber fits sorbo channels and the slayer channels and rounded rubber fits the ettore and unger S channels. Hope that helps.

I have been a sorbo “fan” - channels, handles, and t-rubber.

how are the standard unger ergo techs ?

as I just orderd some I’m new to the business

I’m with Boston. I like the old time Ettore Brass channels with Ettore rubber. It’s no frills. In my opinion, A good technique and a fresh rubber goes a long way.
