Black diamond medium rubber

I purchased a bunch of black diamond rubber especially when was on sale last year, it’s been a struggle for me with lines to sheets of water on the glass. I’ve used it in unger squeegees and liquidators. I asked my rep why im struggling and he said that rubber junk don’t buy it. It brand new out of package feels nice on the glass. At time I may get a few windows to turn out fine but usually its a struggle. Anyone not having issue with it? I’m in Florida just north of Tampa by the way.

I have bought a few cases of it over the years and never had problems with it. Some guys don’t like it…I haven’t had problems with it. The Ettore and Sorbo rubber is nice. Grab some of those. I also recently tried the maykker blades and they are nice.

I’m not an OG window washer by any stretch, (Old Guy for sure, but not seasoned in the window cleaning space), but I just could not get the black diamond blades to work for me. So, at least for now, I’m pretty much Ettore all the way.

I’ve been using BD rubber for several years now. I haven’t had much, if any, issues with it. I will say that on hotter days, I do notice it tends to “stick” more to glass than other rubber. I’m up in NW Washington, so a “hot” day here is 75 degrees. In Florida, I’d recommend Facelift Red rubber. It’s expensive, but lasts way longer, especially in warmer/hotter temps, and has about 1/4 the break in time of Ettore. I use it when the temp gets above 50/55 as it’s superior to just about everything else I’ve tried. From 40-55, it’s usually always BD medium, and below 40ish, I use BD soft.

Caveat; I tend to use a bit more pressure than a lot of others, so that may have something to do with it (probably why I can’t stand Unger Green) but I have noticed that BD works better with just a bit more wrist pressure. Also maybe the reason it’s better for nose to glass and not the best for poling.

I was just looking at purchasing some Black Diamond instead of the sorbo rubber. Maybe I will stick with the Sorbo for now.

I have bought bad rubber from each brand but BD-budget dumpster…black diamond, has been the worst. I do work in high heat, Las Vegas and hot glass is unforgiving.
