Black diamond rubber

I brought sum to try for my Sorbo channels. And found it leaves a lot of lines on the glass and on the ends plus it seems to be to long for the channels. Has any one else had this problem with it

Im sorry to hear that - its gets pretty dang good reviews - https://shopwindowcleaner.com/window-cleaning-tools/replacement-rubber/black-diamond-rubber.html

How long have you been using the same piece?

Its AWSOME in the liquidators, switched to black diamond after 20 years with unger hard rubber. I love it. But only in my liquidators. It’s really a medium rubber. It’s not soft or hard but right in the middle. Again best rubber for the liquidator

People love it or hate it. I am getting those lines as well. Back to Moreman rubber.

Glad for this post. I have no perspective on rubber. My borrowed ettore had one in it that I was using. I loved it! I thought you could use it for weeks! “What? You change yours EVERY DAY!?” So I bought some BD and I really don’t like it. It’s really soft and flexible and does seem to leave a lot of streaking, even on a brand new rubber.
I wish I knew what the other one was but it had no markings. He said he bought a roll and just cut it to length. Maybe it was ettore cause he had the squeegee …
The corners especially on my BD rubber seem to bend way too much and streak.

Anyone have experience using the BD medium in Ninjas?

Ive used Ettore rubber my whole window cleaning career .
Tried the black diamond and yes it is too soft takes some time to get use to but the rubber does last a good week.
Would like to hear how the medium rubber is compared to the soft .

Anytime you have dry blade on glass it’ll start to leave streaks. Harder rubber on hot glass is a little more forgiving but it’ll still burn on hot glass. It’ll only stay damp for so long. I see a lot of cleaners drag a squeegee across glass with a six inches of dry rubber and don’t seem to pay much heed to the fact that part of their rubber is on dry glass for a full stroke. Might work where it’s cold out but friction heats up rubber pretty quick on dry glass even so.

As such I wonder how much the preference for different rubber has to do with technique. If you’re fanning glass and have six inches of dry leading edge regularly then a harder rubber that doesn’t burn as quick is what would work. If you’re precision fanning to close then you’re more concerned with the way the rubber handles in relation to slip and transitions that are undetectable. Burning rubber isn’t as much a concern since you rarely have more than an inch or so of leading edge rubber on dry glass. Medium rubber might be great if it’s not to hot out.

Haven’t actually tried out the black diamond yet. Just got some. Still pretty hot here but I did just get some new moerman stuff to play with. Supposedly the black diamond works good in their channels. The fliq is pretty cool. Maybe with the better rubber I’ll like even more.

That’s a very popular combination.

So my shipment of BD mediums came in from WCR and I put them through the paces for today’s schedule.

Paired them with:
18" Ninja
12" Contour Pro+
6" Ettore brass

Conditions: 78° and sunny

Glass: 1 maintenance ressy and 2 first time clean ressys

Although it was only 1 day, I have to say, I’m pretty impressed. Several residential jobs without flipping and the corners stayed intact without dog-earing or trailing, the edge felt “sharp” start finish and it seems to have a nice “slip” to it on the glass, no chatter, no rainbows.
Prior to BD my go to has been ettore, but after 1 day, I think I’m a believer.

BD is top notch stuff, and the price is just ridiculous.

Just thought I’d throw out an update on my Black Diamond rubber experience a month and a half in, using it exclusively and daily.

Through the warm months: Zero complaints.
Several weeks of 50 degree weather and the mediums still leave a streak free clean. Could not be happier that I switched. In my opinion you just can’t go wrong, from the price to the quality it’s really just amazing stuff.
