Black dots

any advice on removing those black dots (i think from bugs) that you find on windows, when they are on siding or gutters? Thanks!

Mold?

Artillery fungus(shotgun fungus) and good luck with the siding and gutters. From what I’ve read it requires either hand scraping or pressure washing with such high pressure that it’s bordering damage. I see it all the time
Artillery Fungus- Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

white pad with TSP diluted at 1 tablespoon per gallon should do the trick for exterior gutters. I haven’t had any problems with paint coming off at that concentration. I haven’t tried it on siding.

those spots you see are the actual seeds so when they are removed and then dropped back down into the mulch, guess what? Life long job security. I have seen new homes covered with hundreds of thousands of these as high as 20+ feet. I don’t believe there is even an effective fungicide. Will ruin the paint on vehicles if let be, seen it first hand.

Unless of coarse it is actually fly puke…

Fly’s make black dots when they puke up stomach acids to dissolve what ever it is they are trying to eat. (A Fly has no teeth or means to get food into it’s mouth other than suction).

If it’s the same spots I’m referring to then the fly’ barf is only on the exterior side . Now why would the fly regurgitation be all over the siding? I get it if it was from the inside while they are fighting their way outside thru the glass.

Why do most animals eat feces?
Why will a dog vomit and turn right around and eat it?

Animals are animals. They do stupid stuff that makes us wonder how they can be so disgusting.

Fly’s will puke all over windshields and the paint of cars. Fly’s will puke on lumber. Apparently something tastes good to them and they are trying to eat it. Who knows what the fly is thinking.

Flies will conjugate where it is warm, where there is shade when they need it, and a pile of other reasons. The life of a fly is to eat, consummate, and die.

Please tell us your not a window cleaner and that you accidentally stumbled upon this forum… mind blown from freemind

LOL!

Well, he asked WHY a fly would do that. There is not a good answer, as I do not understand the mentality of a fly. I just see the dumb things they do.

Sure does beat stepping in the dog sh!t with bare feet on your way to the bathroom prior to sunrise… I’ll take a baker’s dozen

There are a few products for pressure washers that claim to effectively remove shotgun fungus, but I can’t remember their names and don’t know if they live up to their claim.

great… I just blasted the keyboard with beer on that laugh…

I know those dots well. I use a 1" blade. brings the momentum to a screeching halt but, that’s the fastest I know.
