Hello, I know I should probably post this in the PW forum, but I’ll start here. I was approached today to remove shingle granules from new decks. The roofers had left the small specs to melt on to the Duradek. The granules themselves can be picked off, but they leave behind a tiny mark (tar? Grease?). I have surface cleaners/4000psi, but my main concern is getting the grease/tar stains off, they are tiny but noticeable. Any suggestions?
I wouldn’t run a surface cleaner on a composite deck. Don’t know what besides hot water or a solvent will remove the tar. And I doubt either is a good option. What are the deck manufacturers recommended cleaning procedures.
I will definitely look in to it! I agree I will need a good solvent for the tar, I don’t think the specs will be an issue at all, they can be picked off so I am sure even without a surface cleaner it won’t be an issue.
