Breaking my cherry, high rise guys, got a question

Not trashing Olympique, they did that all on their own. I know they are a big company, and really I have never seen their work, I am only going on reputation. As far as Lily’s gos are you the owner? What I was going by when I said that was the reviews on the web, and what a friend in the High Rise game told me…like I said, I’m new to the high rise thing…so I was giving second hand info. If that was wrong, then I was wrong.
Elite Building Maintenance does do great work. I just lost a bid today against them. I have no idea how they can charge under 6000 for a 12 story building. Beyond me man. The best I can do was 8, and my original was higher than that. I know he pays his guys well, and I know his guys are great. More power to him I guess.
Still trying to figure his game. That dude JT, even tho he has never cleaned a window, sure does know what he is doing. Just gos to show window cleaning and being an entreprenuer are 2 seperate things.

Yeah I own lily’s. Welcome to highrise. You should take some safety classes through the IWCA on it if you are not familiar. Glad you didn’t drop your price on that bid there is nothing worse than paying to hang on building. Those “reviews” are put there by competitors with to much time on their hands. oh well! Some shops here have high rise cornered with rock bottom prices(and maybe some palm greasing). Anyways high rise is boring, same window over and over and over

Do those reviews hurt you at all? Any way you can get people to write good ones so those would be left down the list, or even a response from you? Just curious, because if that were to happen to me, I would like to know the right way to go.
I dont think its palm greasing going on, nothing left to lube with man, not at those prices. I DO know that there is a rich boy in town that his daddy knows all these people in one way or another and thats how he gets these gigs.
I did go down to 8 but they still said no. I spoke with Bobby from D’Arcy window cleaning and he told me I was WAY off on my bid, that his would have been 10 but with the pay for my guys I could get it done for 6500. I asked him why the profit margin is so low, and he said thats just the way it is because of the way everyone prices them so low.
What I dont get, is that this work is so dangerous and it pays less than much easier work. For 3 weeks at that gig I would make 600 bucks. Really???!!!
I dont think so man. I can make that doing a house, and I dont even do the work, in 5 hours. My guys dont risk their life doing it, training or not, and we can actually pay bills. I wont go down on my price, not one bit. I will get certified, eventually…but if the building wont pay what is fair, then JT can do it.

we haven’t paid for any advertising in 18 months. If we were slow I would worry about it but the phone keeps on ringin.

Tory,
Sorry to hear about that rough first job.
Seems to me like the highrise isn’t all that profitable to go after, especially after your reports on it.

Maybe as a long-term deal these can turn profitable, but it doesn’t seem that you should expect a return on this investment for atleast a year or two.

I’ve never looked into it, but 2 years ago I saw a bid from Olympique on a local industrial park (22 buildings) and they were about 1/2 to 1/3 the price of a couple other guys so I didn’t even take the time to write up my price.

If you were to ask me, don’t miss out on this year’s spring cleaning because you’re busy working on new projects. Chalk it up for next winter

Oh I dont turn ANY work down, which is why I wanted in on the highrises. My phone is starting to ring pretty good now too.
