I’ll call customers with an estimate for $450.00 to clean all the window in their house and they’ll ask how many days it will take to do the job. I laugh and say the job will only take 2 hours or so and they are shocked. Then they proceed by telling me the last window cleaner they had do their window took 2 days or so to clean the windows. That’s a bucket BOB job!! Bucket Bob’s are AWESOME, they make us look like heroes all the time!!

i also love when people ask why i charge more money to wash windows than a bucket bob… umm hello i am a professional window cleaner, not a bucket slob… i mean bucket bob…
Isn’t this true in every industry? Backyard mechanics; a plethora of yard care folks and handymen; and even discounted used furniture, clothes, and appliances.
BB’s are not our competition and don’t really tarnish the industry. Customers seeking quality services and products know this. I don’t spend any energy worrying about the fact that some people are trying to make some money for themselves.
$225.00 an hour? :eek: at least if they hired bucket bob they could hose off the windows after he left and save a ton
im not spending ANY energy worrying about anything… i didnt say bucket bob’s were anything close to my competition… i do however think its funny to hear stories of bucket bob’s… obviously this type of humor is lost on you…
my market is full of people looking for the cheapest thing out there while they hang their 60" flat screen on their wall… i like hearing those same people tell stories of how their last experience with bucket bob or fish window cleaning was sh*t… i eat it up! it makes my adrenaline kick… it gives me hope that someday ill wake up, here on the south shore and people will actually want a quality service for an affordable price and not be nickeled and dimed by people who dont know the difference between my company and bucket slob or a big franchise who comes in and tries to take over your market…
i also have no problem with people going out and making a living… in fact hats off to them… but i hate low ballers and people who dont know what they are doing ruining the market and who make the sale for a professional company more difficult than it needs to be…

A 3 man crew, maybe a 4 man crew depending on what else is lined up for the day:p
We charge per window, not per hour! Price may be what our customers pay, but quality professional service is what they are buying. Our customers realize that because I wouldn’t have all of my crews booked out 3 weeks and a waiting list if they didn’t.

Apologies; it sounded a bit whiny amongst your recent posts complaining about “bucket bobs/bums,” “low ballers,” or some other “inappropriate term.”

i dont think calling someone a bucket bob or bucket bum is laughing at the misfortune of others… its like calling someone an idiot bc they are driving like an idiot… i call it like i see it… a beat up van with crooked mailbox lettering that reads “window cleaning” with a crooked number underneath it that drives around undercutting jobs, doing a lousy job is a bucket bob or a bucket slob…

ummmmmmm I think I might have had my start described this way. Yea it sucks but I never took it seriously then. Just some extra cash at what I was good at. Now its a much better image w/ great $$. But I am focused.
