Bucket

Looking for a solid bucket , I’ve been buying the homer bucket from HD for years . But just seems like the last year I’ve been replacing it once a month . They don’t built them like they used to . Looking for a solid bucket that can last me the entire year . Maybe I should just pull the trigger on a $40 yeti bucket. What do you guys recommend that has lasted a long hard year ? Looking for 5 gallons bucket not a rectangular 6 gallon bucket . TIA

Try Uline.com get a food grade bucket, I think they are sturdier…

I don’t get it. Wow, you must be mighty rough on your buckets. Treat your tools right and your tools will treat you right.

Mike they only last me about 1 month . The handle rips right out of the plastic socket . Maybe I need to stop beating my helper also

The metal handle rips right out of the plastic socket , I do fill my buckets all the way to the top and carry them around the property as we’re doing the job . But the sockets don’t handle the weight and the plastic rips right out . Trust me Garry I do care for my stuff I still have tools from 8 years ago when I started

I use a 5 gal paint bucket. Go to a paint store and buy an empty.

Genaro , I can’t tel how old these are, they have to be at least 3 years old , I carry them around more than likely full just as much as you do .
I don’t understand why yours is ripping out. Ya , I hate those square buckets for water. I just use them to keep supplies

This is what those square buckets are good for

filling it to the top is the issue imho. those pails are designed to carry a full load but for very limited use, put it on a pallet, put it on a store shelf, in cart, in the car to the job, use it throw it out. they can outlast their design use with a lighter weight.
i’m surprised you get a month out of them, why so full?

The Red & Blue buckets were ordered 2019 . Now that I’m thinking I do leave it in the truck as much as possible these days getting older and I don’t usually have it filled up all the way. No need for it , I start out filled all the way. So in. The beginning of the day they’re filled.
But I’ve been using these types of buckets for many years and I don’t remember going through them often.

I use the rectangular Sorbo buckets, but used to use Ace Hardware 5 gallong buckets but never filled them more than half full. I never thought they would be good for that much weight.

could it be that the short lifespan of the buckets is due to the soap he is putting in them?

Depends on the soap! … what if he uses ammonia too?!
