Building Your Brand Spankin New RO

Building Your Brand Spankin New RO!

Rookie here, please don’t tear me up too much. I’m new to window washing but boy am I learning fast! I have a water fed pole setup, and I’m doing between 2 to 5 houses a day!

Heres what I’m dealing with though. Right now I have a DI setup but want to build my own RO setup. I’m coming across peoples setups where they are spending roughly $500 and their system is AWESOME. The one thing I cant find, is a blueprint, or any specifics on these systems. Pictures are cool but this is where I mess up…think I can do it myself…ruin days of work, and get myself in a bad mood.

I’m looking to build a residential system. Maybe a system that can push 200 or 300 feet of line, so I can leave the RO system in the truck. From my understanding I just need a carbon filter, and a RO 4x40.

I’m not here for all the answers btw, I’ve been powerwashing for years now and can help anyone with those type of questions…I’m also pretty invested into marketing as well. DM and I will help you as much as possible, im here to help too!

Can anyone show me their setup, how much it costs, what they WISH they would of done, etc!? Hoping this post stays up for a while and helps people in my type of predicament.

Thanks for the help guys!
Brandon

this is very clear and simple:

… And years later it’s still running like a dream. The simpler the system, the easier it is to maintain and the more $$ you keep.

Thanks a lot for the help guys. Yes def want to keep it as simple as possible. The only part I don’t understand is the RO Membrane part! Does anyone recommend any specific? I know the size should be 4x40, but anything else before I spend hundreds of dollars and buy the wrong system? and any recommended attachments to go along with it? SO CLOSE…CANT…CONTAIN…MYSELF

Moving Dolly CHECK
Resin Tank CHECK
Carbon Sediment Filter CHECK
RO Membrane ?
RO Membrane Holder ?
RO hose attatchments ?

Two out of three isn’t bad, you will have to see what type of fitting are required for the housings input/output and waste.
That is basically what you need to set up an RO if you are already sorted out on pre filters and DI after the RO.

axeon hf5 4040 is what’s in most that i know of, it has very low operating pressure required. at 65 psi it produces about 2.5 litres per minute.

THANK YOU. I ordered it! Its coming roughly at the end of the month so I will upload pics on here.

Coming together quite nicely guys, thanks for the help. I’m wondering if anyone has any recommendations on pumps. How do I get water to go down 300 feet of hose without losing pressure. (from the DI resin to the brush)

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Don’t order that Hydron BW4040 that’s pictured above. It won’t give you enough flow. You need the Axeon HF5. Ask me how I know…

If you already ordered it then return it before you try it. You need a membrane that operates at lower pressure. That Hydron needs like 150psi (I can’t recall exactly). But it needs more pressure than a tap will give you by itself.

Yep, made that mistake myself.

BAM. Returned my RO membrane, then ordered the HF5…holy price difference.

Everything is coming in a few days, will keep you updated. Only thing I’m having trouble with is…

Can I have 300 feet of hose…without it losing that much pressure? If I need a pump, what pump do you recommend!?
Where can I get a cool dolly made for window washing? Right now I’m settling for a home depot dolly.

If you guys could answer it, that would be perfect…if not I will tech myself eventually hah!

WCR sells the XERO cart if you want to mount it on one of those. It’s more expensive than a dolly but it looks nice and is slimmer. As far as hose length and pumps go, there are a lot of options. You’ll get better flow/further distance with 3/8” hose. Then switch to 5/16” for the last 50’. That’s not as necessary with a pump though. I fill up a tank with my RO and pump out of there. I can go 250-300’ of 5/16” hose (depending on pole height) and around 500’ if the first 300’ is 3/8” air hose.
