Bussiness tactics

When you grow some thicker skin and grow up, come on back.

Were you trying to build a case against the other person? I don’t know…just asking.
If you were trying to build a case against them here, what would be the point unless
we or they knew who they were?

Yes Tyler.

This kid really needs a hobby.

Sam, I can see what you are saying and I am sure you understand that commercial is MUCH more competitive than residential. My useless words of wisdom would be to to focus your energy on residential clients. It will take longer to build up but much less competitive.

To prove my point here is a quick story. A new company was just starting up and they were killing the other competition in town and i knew they were trying to acquire my accounts too. I ran into the guys about a year after they started and they approached me to talk shop and i didn’t talk too much but stayed friendly and wished them the best. Another 6 months go by and i came into contact with them again and they said they went into a residential addition were i clean about 90 percent of the homes and when they went door to door to get work. They approached one of my customers and she told them “you can offer to do my windows for free and i still will not switch”. I did not lose one customer to them. Another year later the guys stopped cleaning windows and today they actually refer customers to me. It was a crazy turn of events but it taught me that residential can be much much more stable in certain markets.

Maybe it would be a good idea to let the problem appear before we throw it away.

From having many run ins with companies in my area it’s better to keep in mind the number 1 rule in business ethics - there are no rules.
Be prepared. Play accordingly.

The “family” made a poor business decision when they agreed to maintain low prices and not have a warm hand-off of the accounts.

It’s an excuse to declare that they were simply honoring lower prices. If low prices don’t fit into ones business plan/model, prices should be raised with a face-to-face explanation, with the risk of losing customers calculated beforehand. A “salesman” doesn’t establish prices.

I’m guessing there more to this story, but I don’t care to read about it. This whole situation was communicated in a whiny fashion, and that is annoying. Whining rarely elicits sympathy (it seems this was the goal) or assistance.

Aah. A little research and I figured out the “feud”. [URL=“Redirecting...”]Facebook?

Sam’s father is looking for support on facebook. Again, no prudent reader is going to just automatically believe one side of an account like this.

I know nothing about this particular case but I remember a situation that
reminds me of it. A salesman/ window cleaner went around picking up work and priced the jobs
very low in order to get them. He took work from many window cleaners at low prices and built a route.
Then he sold the route to someone and all of the window cleaners he took the work from wanted
their work back from the man who bought it.

This was a complicated situation.

I feel for anyone that is getting worked over in business but when read that rant it sounds REAL creepy.

This is my last response on this thread because Spring is to close to waste on issues that i care nothing about.

When people get into situations like this, the reactions are very high.
It is unwise to sell any business in an unethical or deceptive way.
The details need to be understood and the whole thing needs to be up front.
If not, there can be serious consequences.

From an outside observer, and I really haven’t read this with both eyes on the computer screen, but is the “undercutter” upset because the “association” is charging more than him?

Makes no sense to me

We have a guy who is way cheaper than is around here and hardly ever turns up, as when he does he may as well not bother - guess what? I have to thank him for about 60% of my commercial round. I don’t care what anyone thinks - you get what you pay for. If your prefer to work for less than I do, good on you. That’s what a fair market place is - everyone has a choice. Everyone has a facet of their business that no one else offers, you just have to work out what it is.

IMO, if a company/person, is paying all appropriate taxes, has insurance to protect the customer, pays their employees a legal wage, then what they charge is between them and their customers

That is exactly what is going on! We purchased a skeleton route and the prices were already set low by this certain individual, then that same individual turned around and told the other window cleaners of the area that we lowballed and undercut them and took the bussiness’s and not him! Our Question is: Is it just him pitting one against the other? Or all in the “network” in the know, working together to create the appearance that we wronged them? This could help decieve those in the network that arent in the know! This is why my father and I posted on these groups. And why are all of these people coming out automatically against us to try to shred us without all the facts, to shut us down?(If all of these people are legit, and not part of these unethical bussiness tactics, then why would they come out to shred us and to try to shut us up?) You take a different stand on this subject when you are not apart of this. But if a person is apart of this it is offensive to them, as it might expose them for what they are. A person can tell alot about the ones that come out to attack, it is quite revealing! Thus Far GOD has blessed our bussiness inspite of the competitors(again no offense to anyone, just explaining a little more on what this about in order to help those newguys or those facing the same situation to keep their bussiness.) My Family Gave it to God, and only By God we are here. We would have been shredded by competitors if it wasn’t for him! Prayer works a million times than the human mind. For those out of worldwide, you know this tactic works! Just asked for help and im glad to hear positive post from everyone. I do appreciate it. It means there are some honest people in the biz! It is comforting. I had no beef with you Tony, i never mentioned names and neither did my father. I hope the best for you,and ask God to bless you wherever he can. Thanks everyone! - Sam

We wasn’t buiding a case against anyone, we just wanted to bring out in front of everyone what was happening to us in our area, in order to see if this is acceptable practice within the industry.

Nope

How much of this do you have documented Sam? Is this provable? If not it could be construed as libelous (not slander anymore since it’s in print).
